The course has a great lay-out
Nice Robert Trent Jones lay-out, however the greens are in terrible shape on the front nine. Not worth the price they charge. Got a good deal through Golfnow
Great place to enjoy what Florida is about!
Great course for the money and something new to try and not be disappointed. Almost had an eagle on 2 par 5 dogleg left. I shot my lowest round 87!
Greens fair, but fairways were in less than fair condition.
Glad I got my tee time for $16. Their std rate of $46 would be a poor buy even in high season.
good course from white tees challenging from back tees
staff is friendly, new golf carts, greens are always in very good playing condition but fairways while playable can use some attention.
A nice course
My wife and I on vacation and not aggressive or great golfers. Had an early tee time, got let out 15 min early with just we two. Just how we like it. Friendly starter. Greens were in nice shape. Clearly there is an effort to maintain and improve this course. Nice!
Traditional Florida Course
The Apollo Beach Golf Club is an old Florida style course, well bunkered, lots of water, flat and fun. A very enjoyable layout that awards good shots but penalized wayward attempts, The greens were a 7 out of 10 with a few bare spots but putted well. Very enjoyable and I will return.
Good value
It has been 2 years since I played this course last, it is in better condition than I remember it, good greens and fairways overall a good value at the Golfnow rate.
interesting layout.
The course conditions are in good shape. Tees & fairways are very much improved from previous year visits. Greens were true and fast. Will definitely play on our next visit. We got a good rate through Golfnow.com.
nice course
Played with one other gentleman I caught up with that was ahead of me, and had a great time. Course was in good shape, greens were fast but fair. Not quite as pristine as other RTJ coursed I've played, but still very nice. Great value for the money. Will probably play again while I'm in Florida.
Nice Surprise
After years of ragged fairways and spotty greens it is obvious that they have put the time and effort in to getting the golf course back in more than decent shape. Customer service has always been good and remains that way. Course was in great shape...Greens were fast but true.......Great afternoon with my group
A great value, with varied hole layouts
Good course for the value, with different looks on most holes. The front nine challenges with water near landing areas for tee shots, and the back nine has several holes requiring good approach shots.
All levels of golfers should enjoy this course/
Water comes into play on almost every hole.
Narrow fairways with water leaves very little room for error. The greens were faster than other courses I've played in the area.
Lots of water, huge greens in very good condition....interesting layout
This is a very flat course with lots of water (17 holes?). Greens are slightly elevated, relatively flat and guarded by one or two traps in general. But the greens are huge. Can have 100 foot putts if you're on the wrong side of several greens. Greens are very good condition.....interesting grass. Much better than a couple of years ago.
On two holes, you have to hit across canals which have small boat traffic. Most of the boaters are well aware of the need to watch the golfers....:)
It's flat but certainly not straight. Lots of twists and turns with a few strategically places trees here and there. And I already indicated the water. Hey, it was designed by Robert Trent Jones.....play it if you've never played one of his courses.
Lots of homemade goodies in the snack bar....try the banana bread.
Fun course with interesting greens.
The course is in good shape and the greens rolled really well. The grass on the greens is not your typical green grass as it is quite stiff. If the greens are not freshly mowed its like hitting into the grain on every put. The course is well maintained and makes good use of the canals and waterways.
Much better than anticipated...
I hadn't played Apollo Beach in many years and was pleasantly surprised that the fairways were in good shape. The last time I played many of the fairways were patchy. If you take a look at Google maps satellite photos you can still see the old conditions at the 150 yard markers of most fairways. Anyway, that was then... this time I found plenty of good fairway turf and the greens were very smooth. They are planted with a salt-loving variety of grass and the result is a firm and solid putting surface - very nice. The White tees were reasonable though I wish courses would have more variety of yardages on their par 3 holes. It seemed like I was always pulling 6-iron on them because of wind conditions. Played at 11:00am on Saturday and finished in around 3 hours. I'll be back.
Nice golf course at a great price!
Good layout. Tees and fairways are in average condition, with above average greens for a public course. Challenging course from the blue tees( my husband played the blues-2 handicap). We had a stress free, easy day on the course. Definitely try the banana from form the restaurant, run by a very sweet lady!
Course has gotten better
Played here in April and the place was a goat ranch. Got a good deal short notice and thought I'd give it another shot. Seems with all the summer rains, the course has come around. Need some touch up in some areas, but overall good value for the money I spent. We'll see what happens in the spring after a lot of winter play and little water.
WOW! What a difference
July 2013
WOW! You have to get out here and play. Best greens within 500 miles. What a difference the past few years makes. I spoke to the Pro shop regarding the great course conditions. The two new greens look great. The new planted fairways are coming back great. Not one bad patch on #11 (can you believe it). They told me that the GM and the maintenance crew are working diligently day to day, sun up to sun down to put their course back on the radar. Man, they aren't kidding. She also mentioned of after the fall out with the development with Mira Bay they are here to stay and the golf course conditions, members, guests and staff are top priority. They want everyone talking about Apollo Beach Golf Club. I must say, you are well on your way. You have to buy their Club Membership IT IS the BEST DEAL AROUND! Come check out the course.

Great value. Friendly staff.
Greens were recently aerated, but overall a good course.
