About
Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., Apollo Beach Golf Club features large, well- bunkered greens and long tee boxes with generous fairways. The course is designed around many small lakes and inlets that dominate the landscape, bringing water into play on every hole. One trip around the layout and you will know that there are all sorts of unseen challenges awaiting golfers of all skill levels. The snack bar/restaurant offers home cooked breakfasts and lunches featuring specials daily.

Challenging day
Some greens could use some help, but overall a fun course to play.
Winter conditions with no over seed
As expected the crabgrass is dying and the bermuda is dormant, very thin grass conditions .

Won’t be back
Conditions deplorable, no grass all weeds, big patches of cement dust traps weren’t manicured and growing weeds, won’t be back here

Water
This is a fun course, pretty challenging with water hazards on each hole. However the fairways are in pretty rough condition, greens were in good shape and the T-boxes were in fair condition. Lots of birds, I have also seen Dolphins there before.

Needs major revamp.
Fairways are not in good shape. In general disrepair. Greens were decent. Pace of play was somewhat slow.

Fast Greens
Really challenging to put it in the cup with how fast the greens were. Loved it. Course is still quite wet, as it usually is in the summer, being low-lying and so close to Tampa Bay. One of the Par 4 holes was cut back to a very short Par 3. But it was still a super fun day of golfing. Tom and Pete were super helpful. Sadly, the bar and restaurant are not open, but drinks were available in the Pro Shop.
