About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Love this course
Today the foursome in front of me made it take 4 hours to finish 18 holes. I'm glad I had a charged phone for entertainment

Good. Conditions, Great Value, Accommodating Staff
Played late morning weekend round. Paired with three other walk-ups. Enjoyable experience. Course conditions were surprisingly good, especially after multiple days of heavy downpours. Greens grainy & slow, but rolled true. Sand traps wet & hardpacked. Otherwise, course in very good condition. Hope to return again soon.

Great local course!
I played this course with my son who is 9. It was a great layout for both of us. Challenging but fair. Fairways and greens were in great shape!

Can't touch this place in Season don't monitor the pace and way overpriced but that said, had a great experience. Course was in decent shape with puttable greens.

Beautiful Course
Beautiful tees, greens, fairways, bodies of water, wildlife. I prefer 4-5 par holes which they had plenty of. We'll laid out. My favorite in this area so far!

Great value
Great course! Greens were in great shape. Fairways also. Staff is also very friendly. Overall, a great value!!
Independence Day bonus
I played the course again and the greens were true and in great shape. Course was in excellent shape overall. Met some very nice people as I was playing solo and my playing partner helped make for an enjoyable day.
Only negative was one of the apparent regulars seemed to take offense over my 0700 AM tee time that I had reserved on GN. She was grilling me and couldn’t understand why I had the first start time when she and her “golf league” friends had the 7:07. She kept yapping at me as I was warming up, and then was pushing me get to the tee box (it was 6:55 at this point and Ithe guy I was paired with was finishing his warm ups). . I politely told and assured her I would not slow her group down. (I play to about a 12 hcp.). We tee off. They are talking loudly behind us as we were hitting. My partner pulled one and after his second shot, she and her league friends informed us they were going ahead. I was across the fairway and was pretty well dumbfounded.
My group played 18 holes in 4 hours. Two elderly players, man and woman as well as my partner and me. Over all, a good day. Unfortunately there are those who don’t understand basic courtesy and etiquette.

Course was in great shape. You can’t beat the price. Play early to beat the heat.

I booked as a single after my clients crapped out on me. From the moment I arrived, I had Karma on my side. The staff was friendly and accommodating! I had to rent clubs, which I despise, but they somehow made it seem ok. Even gave me options. They hooked me up with a course regular who was even better than having a personal caddy. He knew every lie and green. Not to mention he was a 4::20 buddy. We pulled together a cool foursome and had a fantastic relaxing round. I even hit most of my fairways and greens. While the course wasn’t “ tournament level” conditions , who cared? Not me! This is a very nice, well laid out, interesting course, with plenty of challenges and scenery. For the money, you can’t beat it. I’ll be back, and bringing friends !

Best I've seen River Run
Things are looking good at River Run. Greens have never been better and you can't beat the price.
Surprised
For a City course they actually had some grass on the fairway as opposed to comparable courses in the area. This course is unplayable in Season due to the pace of play. I was pleasantly surprised the other day.
