About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Golf Now Suggestion
It was not the course's fault but Golf Now should alert players when a course is being aerated. Unfortunately this occurred on Tuesday morning and my tee time was on Tuesday afternoon. As a result, putting was miserable. Ended up taking mostly all 2 putts if we got the first one any where near the hole.
Always A Good Experience
Played a late morning weekend round. Course was very, very wet after several days of heavy rain storms. Conditions required cart paths only. Got rained on during round, however course conditions were as good as could be expected. Greens were slow but in surprisingly good shape. Bunkers were water logged. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Will go back soon and recommend this course. Best value for a round of golf in the Bradenton area.

Excellent course
Played after a very heavy rain, so this beautiful course, in a park-like setting on the banks of the Manatee River, was more than a bit soggy in many places. However, it is in excellent condition: good fairway grass, excellent greens, tee boxes flat and with lots of grass. Layout is of average difficulty, except the front nine has a few narrow fairways that you must drive straight! The group in front of us was slow, partly because carts on paths only that day, but there was a ranger that sped them up on the back nine. It is easily walkable if you would like. I will definitely be back if I'm in the area again!

The pace of play was so slow the starter teamed us with two other golfers that took forever to hit the ball

Great old Florida style course at good price.
1st time playing here in awhile and was very pleased. Inside staff was very nice, starter did a good job. Course was in excellent condition, Greens were great but a little slow. Only paid $20 for a 7:52 am tee time. I would highly recommend River Run

Good. Conditions, Great Value, Accommodating Staff
Played late morning weekend round. Paired with three other walk-ups. Enjoyable experience. Course conditions were surprisingly good, especially after multiple days of heavy downpours. Greens grainy & slow, but rolled true. Sand traps wet & hardpacked. Otherwise, course in very good condition. Hope to return again soon.

Great local course!
I played this course with my son who is 9. It was a great layout for both of us. Challenging but fair. Fairways and greens were in great shape!

Can't touch this place in Season don't monitor the pace and way overpriced but that said, had a great experience. Course was in decent shape with puttable greens.

Beautiful Course
Beautiful tees, greens, fairways, bodies of water, wildlife. I prefer 4-5 par holes which they had plenty of. We'll laid out. My favorite in this area so far!
