About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Course has a decent layout. I wasn’t aware that there was some type of tournament going on when I booked my tee time. 5 groups ahead. Pace of play was terrible today. I was playing solo and it took me just under two hours to finish 9 holes. Pace got progressively worse from #3-9. I called it a day after 9. In between holes I was able to practice some putting , so I put my down time to good use! This was the earliest I have booked a tee time, got off at 10:30. Usually try to play a bit later to avoid the slower folks ( the ones that eat dinner at 4:00 pm and tee off no later than 9:00 am).
Greens were in good shape although very slow. Staff is always pleasant. I have played here 4 times now. It’s only 2 miles from my house and the fees are inexpensive. It’s still golf, so that makes it worth the crapshoot that River Run can be.
Ver nice course and responsive clubhouse.
Nice course for seniors. Played behind a group of students from IMG and their coaches…it was very very slow..but we phoned the clubhouse who got right on it and cured the blockage..,thereafter play was very smooth.

Fairways were in perfect shape.Greens were just growing back from being punched. Great price for a decent course. Best County ran.

The fairways were in very good shape greens seemed a little slow little patchy but in good shape some of the tee boxes could use some work overall love this class play there a lot they've torn down a lot of the bushes and trees made it easier recommend this to anybody mostly intermediate to beginners the staff is always accommodating

Always A Pleasant Experience At This Course
Played a late morning, mid-week round. Greens rolled true but were slower than you usually find at River Run. Very friendly staff. Bunkers need a bit of work but overall conditions were acceptable, especially for the price. Will return soon and can recommend this course.

We’ll worth it
This is my favorite course. Narrow fairways and the back 9 i feel is more challenging than the front. Best value around in my eyes. Staff is friendly and has what you need but lacks high end touches which I like better.

Best Bang for your Buck
Course is in good condition considering how much you are paying. It’s definitely the best bang for your buck in the area. The course is on the shorter side, but can be fairly narrow which evens out the difficulty. I play here regularly and will continue.
Good Conditions, Nice Greens After Recent Aeration
Played mid-week, late morning round. Had not played River Run in a few weeks as greens had been ‘punched’’ a few weeks back. Pleasantly surprised to find they have almost fully recovered and rolled true. Some tee boxes are not in great shape, and sand trap conditions vary widely (some filled with fresh sand and groomed to perfection, while others are just mud and dirt). Overall this is a very nice course and a great value. Staff (both clubhouse and cart attendants) is friendly and helpful. I look forward to playing River Run again soon.

Good value
Given the amount of play the course gets and the greens recently punched, conditions warranted a 3.5 stars. Staff was friendly too. Great value for your dollar
