About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Great Value
Best value around! Friendly staff. Nice Pace. Course was in good shape. Greens aerated but still not bad.
Club House is nothing special and no bev cart but the staff was great!!!!
Would definitely recommend!!!
Nice Course but Slow Pace
Nice course but the pace of play was so slow that I stopped playing after 9 holes.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Great time
This isnt going to be a top notch course but your also not paying 100$ for a round. Its a very playable course and the staff is great. Lots of courses in the Tampa region have terrible starters who just pack people onto the course causing a round to take 6 hours but this course had an amazing starter who actually sent people off at the correct times. Its also links style so on the occasional (often) slice you still have a chance to find and play your ball!!! Great course and one of my favs!!

Just aerated the greens, but love the golf course. Very good price.
River Run
Unfortunately the greens had just been plugged and sanded so the greens were not very good at the time. This is a necessary procedure so it is understandable. However the tee boxes were badly beaten up with many bare areas which need attention. Other than that the fairways were nice and rough in good shape. I like the layout and the price was fair. I will play again.

Needs course policing
The guy golfing behind me was young . Drinking by himself and playing loud music . Talking on his cell phone . Also was golfing at a quick pace . I went there on an afternoon . This was my first time golfing at this course so maybe it was just an unusual experience. Other wise the course itself was ok .

Letting it Slide
I have played River Run 4/5 times and have always been amazed at how nice the course is , and others feel the same. My last round I was disappointed in the conditions, T boxes were basically sand, fairways needed water desperately, somehow the greens were playable, just very fast.
I won’t let one round ruin my opinion, really enjoy the course usually , nice fair layout , with plenty of challenge. Some TLC and it’s good to go.

A little rough, but overall a great bargain!
I hadn’t played River Run for.a few years until yesterday, so I didn’t know quite what to expect from it. Generally speaking, I was genuinely impressed!
The Pro Shop appeared to be recently updated, and it had a clean look and feel to it. The staff members were very friendly and welcoming to both me and my guest who had just arrived from the U.K.
On course, most of the greens were in very good condition, although many of the tee boxes were kind of shabby. Some of the fairways we’re a little spotty, but rolling a few revolutions to an area with better grass helped that a lot. A good bit of the rough was just hard pan, but very playable.
Overall, I’d rate the course as a generous “4”, but for a Muni with the green fee I paid, it could be an “8”, considering what comparable courses in the area at this time of year are charging.
