Hyde Park Golf Club

About
Hyde Park Golf Club, built in 1925 by Donald Ross, is one of the oldest in Florida. In 1971, the golf course was purchased by former touring professionals Billy Maxwell and Chris Blocker, who have successfully restored it.
Rolling hills, gorgeous Spanish Oaks and towering Southern Pines make Hyde Park a lasting experience. A tour stop for the men's and women's professional golf tours in the 1940s and 1950s, the golf course gained a place in history during the 1947 Jacksonville Open. The great Ben Hogan took an 11 on the par-3 sixth, which became known as "Hogan's Alley." It has a deep-faced bunker to the right and water to the left.
Hyde Park Golf Club measures 6,468 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 124.

Late afternoon golf
Well we found out that later afternoon golf puts you in afternoon sunset. Kinda figured this out when we got on second nine, golf course is in great condition, little wet in areas but hey it's fla with rain. Otherwise course is great , haven't played here in yrs and I was impressed.
Good conditions
Course had a fun little lay out. Conditions were good. Tee boxes flat and in good condition. Fairways nice. 1 or 2 of the greens had some iffy areas but other wise good. I cannot say more on the value I got to play this course. May be on of the better $$$ to condition courses around jax.
Under water
Lots of rain recently and this courses does not drain well. Lots of standing water everywhere. When it is dry this is a decent course but it is in terrible shape right now
Nice Course at a Great Price Point
Even with all the rain lately, the course is holding up. It was cart path only but totally understandable. Greens were in very good shape.
Pace of Play killed the day
The course is in the best shape I've seen it in a long time. The only issue with the great course conditions and great price you get lots of golfers. For some reason the ranger just rides around the course never saying a word to anyone. Played the front in 2.5 hours and left. Hit it and get it people, it benefits everyone. If you have doubled par pick it up and move on. Lastly the beer prices were very reasonable, 5 tall ones for 19 bucks. Suck faster people!
Improved Conditions from 6 months ago
Course is in great shape since last round I played there. I already recommended this course to other golfers for future play. The only thing I would give bad reviews was the clubhouse has had ‘0’ progress and the spring range isn’t in the greatest location. 4star
Not Great Bon
We abandoned the course after 9 holes. Those 9 holes took us 3 hours.
Great layout
Great course. Pace of play was sub par. Overall conditions were very good. They were averaging over an inch of rain for the last week so some holes were very wet and cart path only. Not a dealbreaker, can’t control the rain. Will definitely play again

Suck Faster is the greatest thing I have ever heard
