Hyde Park Golf Club
About
Hyde Park Golf Club, built in 1925 by Donald Ross, is one of the oldest in Florida. In 1971, the golf course was purchased by former touring professionals Billy Maxwell and Chris Blocker, who have successfully restored it.
Rolling hills, gorgeous Spanish Oaks and towering Southern Pines make Hyde Park a lasting experience. A tour stop for the men's and women's professional golf tours in the 1940s and 1950s, the golf course gained a place in history during the 1947 Jacksonville Open. The great Ben Hogan took an 11 on the par-3 sixth, which became known as "Hogan's Alley." It has a deep-faced bunker to the right and water to the left.
Hyde Park Golf Club measures 6,468 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 124.

Solid coursr right now
Been playing here a lot recently. conditions are pretty dang good for winter golf. Some tee boxes are rough, but that’s always expected here. Fun day
Great course at reasonable price.
Very happy playing at this course. The condition at this time of the year is better than other courses in the area. Greens are rlling smooth and speed. The angulated fairways and few hazards are great features to improve one's playing skills.
Great course, looking good right now
Love this course lately, greens are good and firm. fairways looking decent for winter golf. Tee boxes are always a struggle for this course but overall the conditions are great for the price right now
Great Round of Golf at Hyde Park
we enjoyed the round of golf on a cold day. The course condition during this time of the year is above average and phase of play was at our own phase of play. No club house.
Bobby Boucher golf course at it’s finest…
No dress code, no ranger on course, just a starter. Blue jeans and drunks, terrible pace, and people with their jeans rolled up in the water fishing for balls while groups of four are waiting to tee off, complete joke. The golf course is actually pretty nice, but the experience will not have me returning.
Course is challenging and fun!
Course layout is great! Greens are kept up for the most part, and there was only a couple that had some spots needing repair, but you can tell they are trying. Staff is friendly and the ranger makes sure play moves along. Great golf for the price now a days!
Great course for the money.
Best condition I’ve seen this course in awhile. Greens were very good except for a few spots here and there. Played from tips and Tee boxes have improved a lot. Only one tee was completely trashed. Fairways were a bit dead but it’s winter golf right now. Rough was pretty nice texture, gave you a decent lie most times. Would recommend playing here right now if you’re looking for a fun but not serious round.
Winter Golf
Given the season, the course was in fine shape and the greens rolled true and smooth.
If you're a fan of Donald Ross design, you'll see his fingerprints throughout the course, especially on the green structures and par 3's.
The clubhouse reconstruction appears to be in a permanent "hold" pattern, which is a shame, as it could be a fantastic restauarant, pro shop and locker room area for the players!
Great Difficulty
This is a shot maker course. Greens are elongated and difficult to read. All shots must be placed with precision. The course is in good shape, especially the greens. I have to put it back to the top of my rotation. Can’t wait to get back out there again.
Ridiculous Pace of Play
I’ve played Hyde park for over 30 years and have never played in these terrible slow conditions. They need to space out T times or teach the uneducated Ranger how to keep a better pace. He didn’t do Anything but talk to regulars. By the time we got to back 9, every tee was backed up to 2 groups or more. The only reason it got a little quicker because numerous players quit? We saw one player after front nine throw his club at his cart, swear, then drove to his car! FIX this problem Hyde Park.
Good consistent track
Hyde Park has always been fairly consistent. It’s not amazing but a decent track for the price. They are working to finally get the clubhouse finished although I think it’s been worked on for 10 years already. If and when they do, that will make it even better.
Good for the Money
Great course layout as it is an old 1930’s Donald Ross course that is probably not much different than it was originally. Some tee boxes need some work but the fairways were pretty good considering they were in the beginning of going dormant. Greens were slow but they were smooth so still very puttable. The last 4 holes are among the best finishing of any course in NE FL and SE GA. Good value for the money.
Great value!
I think I paid a mere $40 to play this historic course. The clubhouse is getting a redo, but who care? Great layout, friendly staff and brisk pace of play.
Will definitely e back!
Great course
The grounds and course are in great shape. The clubhouse and other amenities are still under construction but moving along. Course overall in great shape.
