About
The 18-hole championship course at Don Shula's Golf Club is one of those courses that just seems to get better as you play your way around.
The first few holes are fairly open and not overly difficult. However, things start to get more difficult as you continue. By the time you make it to the 11th green, you'll know that you're in for a real dogfight. The fairways on the back get tight and there's water on just about every hole. All in all, it's a very enjoyable course from start to finish.
There are tennis courts, multiplex, fitness center etc. There’s something for everyone. The hotel's onsite amenities include upscale dining at the Original Shula's Steak House and casual dinning at the Bull Pen, which serves breakfast lunch and light dinner until 7pm.

Great course
Doesn’t get any better for your money. Course is in great condition.
You have to play here
well maintained, fast and flat greens. Interesting layout of the back 9 with some water .

The Don of a Good Day...
Apart from a few too many patches of thin, soggy turf that dot the back nine, Shula was in swell condition as I and a good friend of mine enjoyed a leisurely, three-hour round that kicked off just as the sun was rising. The carts have no GPS. The pro shop staff and starter/cart attendant provided excellent service. Unfortunately, the snack bar was closed when we arrived and there was no beverage cart service. The bar later opened, but the menu prices were too rich for my taste. The $31 Golf Now fee was a fair price for an early morning, weekday round.

Course was better

Thank you for reviewing Shula's Golf Club. Our greens suffered from a fungus that is common to most golf courses in South Florida especially during the summer. All greens were treated and fertilized back to health. They are currently in great shape. We hope to see again very soon.

Sudden Slide
Four weeks after playing this intriguing course during which track conditions were near excellent, I and my two buds were gravely disappointed on a splendid Sunday afternoon by fairways that were either too bare on the easy front nine or too wet on the challenging, water-laden back nine. The bumpy surfaces of the usually, well-manicured greens provided adventurous rides for our golf balls. Fluffy sand traps were in good shape. Not so good was the beverage cart service that ended about 45 minutes into our 3 1/2 hour round, which zoomed by, thanks to the handful of players on the course who decided not to watch the Miami Dolphins game. The snack bar staffer was attentive, but the bar was closed when we finished. While there was not a cart attendant to clean our clubs, the service was fine before the round. The pro shop staffer and starter were friendly and efficient. We would have gladly paid double the $15 Hot Deal for a course that usually is in fine fettle.

September is a rainy month for us and course conditions can suffer with too much rain. The beverage cart attendants leave around 3pm on Sundays. She should have notified you when it was last call. We will use your comments to re-train afternoon bag staff. There should be an attendant ready to serve you when you are finished. We hope to see you again.

Shiny Shula
A rare, overcast afternoon with no rain provided a welcome opportunity to play a most enjoyable two-hour, solo round over a stout course that was in scintillating condition, even with near-daily thunderstorms that often submerge the watery back nine. Fairways were flush, bunkers were fluffy enough, and the rough was rough as errant balls disappeared into the manicured, spongy grass. Best of all, the smooth-riding greens ran true, if a pinch slow on uphill putts. The gauntlet of several narrow, water-ringed holes on the damp back nine offset a mostly benign and drier front side. Though Shula plays short at 6,700 yards from the tips, the numerous water hazards punish wayward drives and fairway shots. Beverage cart service was good, but ended at 3 pm, the same time the snack bar closed. The hotel bar/restaurant offers tasty Happy Hour fare from 4 pm to 7 pm. Pro shop staffers and cart attendants were welcoming and professional. A solid deal for $30.

Good Course
Typically I can find something to complain about, but that's not the case. The staff is very friendly, the starter was very polite and provided an alternative to expedite the pace of play (played in 3 hours 15 minutes), the greens were very well maintained and rolled fairly fast, the course dried fairly well with only one hole that was cart path only and the fairways were very nicely maintained as well and no issues with the quality of the bunkers. Overall I would recommend playing this course if you're in the west Miami area, it's a good value
