Nice Greens
The greens were beautiful but slower than I expected. Overall very nice golf course.
Better than expected for late summer
Greens in good condition, very firm but not burned out. Tees are very dry and a couple were tough to get tees inserted. Forgiving layout, with wide fairways. Enjoyable round of golf.
Decent course for the price
Pace of play was slow. Greens were very sandy. Staff was great. Tee to green was in good shape.
Beautiful Challenging Course
The Palmetto course was in terrific shape! After getting 17 inches of rain, was cart path only which made for a long walk for us that can’t hit it where we want to!! 🤣. Staff is extremely pleasant and efficient. Thoroughly enjoyed the round.
Good course, play was rushed
Course was nice but official rushed us and we were rained out on the 14th hole.
Greens were bad, seem to be healing but may take a month, otherwise course was nice
Myrtlewood Palmetto Course
Pros:
-Early tee time available
-Fairways and roughs were in good shape
-Clubhouse staff and starter were very friendly
Cons:
-Literally no food/drink available on the course until 9-10am. Was told the cart girl would be around shortly and didn’t see her until the 12th hole. Granted we had the third tee time, but don't advertise it as if she starts when we do. The course doesn’t turn at the clubhouse and the “snack shack” doesn’t open until 10. Not to mention it only took cash, which we didn't have enough of on us. We were absolutely parched by the time we were able to get something. Cart girl had the personality of a napkin and seemed annoyed that we even asked her to stop.
-Greens were in bad shape. Clubhouse instructed us to pick up after two putts, but not advertising this some way before making the tee time would have been nice.
Unfortunately all the greens are in bad shape…..this is not the norm. I’m sure they will get them under control. Other than that it’s an outstanding course.
I have seen better cow pastures
I have been playing golf for 60 years and have never seen greens in such bad shape. The tees, and fairways are just average, but playable. What happened to all the greens?
The man at the counter in the pro shop was not very friendly to the patrons. Maybe he is also the Head Greenskeeper.
Hope this course can fix their problems soon, because it seems like it could be a fun track to play.
I won’t be back anytime soon.
Greens are Horrible
No one in the clubhouse told us the majority of greens have dead spots in them. It wasn't till we got to the first tee when the starter told us that we were not going to have a great day on the greens. Wouldn't have played if I knew. Played the Palmetto and Pine Hills course 15+ times but no more. Be honest about the course condition and not try to screw people over.
So so
Not the friendliest guy, telling us to leave our clubs when I told him we are perfectly capable of putting them on the cart ourselves. Then when he place them on cart, had to undue them just to get to my towel as he had it wrapped so tight!
Worst greens ever
Palmetto course claims that they offer well-manicured Bermuda grass greens.
This could not be further from the truth!
The greens were fungus diseased and not playable.
If you like to play golf on a golf course that does not include putting, this course is for you.
Don’t waste your money. There are many other fine courses in Myrtle Beach that you can enjoy a round of golf on.
Terrible condition
The greens were severely damaged. All greens had areas of damage and patches of no grass at all. Fairway conditions were poor with the same problems. It could have been from too much rain but other nearby courses were in much better condition. There was no mention of the conditions online or in the pro shop. I found out from the starter on #1. No discounted rate either. The cost was nearly $100 and you at times could not move your ball on the green to find a way to avoid the damage areas. Wait a few months and ask before you book this course.
Worst Course in Mrytle
Worst course I’ve ever played. They shouldn’t even allow people on this course. I was told the greens were punched but that would have been the best case scenario. You can not classify that as a green I’ve seen terrible neighbors with better grass than this course.
