Pleasantly surprised
We had heard it was in bad shape but were surprised by the course. The layout was good
Pace of play was slow and they did overseeding. They should have adjusted the rate due to this and cart path only always slows up pace.
Vacation golf
If course is overseeding they should let you that it will be cart path only. Cart path only makes a lot more walking. The rate should be less in these conditions.
Course is ok.
It look like they over watered.There was one tee so wet you left your shoe prints in grass..Some sand traps had water in them.Pace was 4.5 hours .

Enjoyed the course. Cart path only do to seeding and watering. Touch greens to putt on. Many little unreadable lines, resulting in missing putts by 1/2 inch.
Slow slow play
We found the play slowed up considerably by the 5th hole. We found ourselves waiting on every hole at least 5 minutes or longer. There was no Marshall to be found. It took us 4 hrs & 52 minutes to play this round. They show it should take only 4.12 to play. We should played this course in 3.45 max.
Please pick up the pace
This course has n houses on it. Lay out is excellent.
The greens were very fair on speed and break. Most greens are elevated though so go down a club going into the green
Bull Doze It
Resident of the Grand Strand for 7 years. Played over 30 courses. THIS COURSE IS THE WORST. Its an embarrassment to take a guest there. Everything ( Booking, Desk Clerk, Bag Drop, Greens, Layout) gets an F. Heard a rumor that it was going to be turned into condos. Good Idea -- Bull Doze it. Horrible, Horrific and Horrendous would be good descriptors. Dont play there to catch a plane. You will be sick all the way home.
What happened to the Pines
This us d to ne a favorite place to play. Since the city turned over the operation to an outside company, I’ll never be back. 20-30 minute waits on just about every hole, left after 12 holes. Get a better company or turn it into condos. The military guys are rolling in their graves to see this happen to what was a hiddn gem .
