Too Noisy day we played
Feel there should have been a discount for playing as they were dropping trees during our round. Very noisy with chainsaws and backhoe noise let alone the noise of the trees dropping. There was also a lot of debris around from the trees that hadn’t been cleaned up yet. The course itself is very nice, lots of water, but shouldn’t bother if you’re a good enough player. Close to the airport, so lots of airplanes taking off too, but you know that going in as well.
Nice course.
This can be a really fun course to play, but the pace of play was very slow. Our group was a twosome, and the groups in front were foursomes. They did not seem to have sense of urgency in playing golf, as if a 5 hour round was the normal way to play. Unfortunately, the Marshall that passed by a number of times did not seem to take any steps to change the pace of play.
Overall course is in good condition, greens not as good but it is January. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would play again.
Robert
The greens are pretty fast, I'm not used to that. This time of year not a lot of turf on the fairways which makes it a little bit difficult. But all and all the courses is nice and a good price
Winter break
Late January round to satisfy need for a winter break. Course was in very playable condition considering the recent winter weather. Also maintenance on the irrigation lines was underway. Enjoyed the layout. Very friendly staff.
Just after the snow storm
It was a fun day even though we had snow in the shadows. Cart path only helped me get my step in.
Course conditions were fair considering the course just reopened after the storm.
Great layout. Greens were great considering they had not been cut for a couple of days.
Best 3 finishing holes on the Strand!
Course closed due to snow!!
Course was closed due to VERY unseasonal snot!! Okay ✅ thanks
Ok
Some of the greens on front 9 bumpy. Was going at a good pace until running into 2 slow groups. Had to ask to play through and they did. Then ran into a fivesome that I drove around then rest of day was good. Would play again if a good price but low on my list. Not a bad course just didn’t excite me.
January 2025
First time playing this course, very nice and well maintained fairways. There were a couple holes that had some maintenance going on that ran the entirety of the fairway (water lines). The greens were small but not in the best of shape. Given I played in the off season I did expect some maintenance to be going on. I did enjoy the course overall. I feel like it is a challenge for all skill levels. Very forgiving but challenging on its own right. For $40, it’s a tough one to beat. I will be coming back.
Pleasantly surprised
Played Whispering pines today. I was very pleasantly surprised. The greens on the front nine were not very nice but don't let that ruin your game. A little better on the back nine. The layout was quite nice. Some really nice holes. The first par 5 you get to is quite a beautiful hole of golf. The staff was very friendly. I will return for sure.
