Ocean View Municipal Golf Course

I used to love playing Oceanview, but this whole season their greens are being repaired. 15 out of 18 of them are covered in gouges and sand….aerated way to late in the season (or did it twice for whatever reason), and it just makes putting impossible. Hopefully they’ve got them fixed by next year….there’s a reason this course is one of the cheapest in the area.

Not a bad course to play casually on vacation, but the greens were so bad it made it a bit frustrating. There were a few tee boxes that also were essentially pure sand. Has potential though.

Beware Greens are are in bad shape bumps all over greens ball hop and slows down balls.

Wide open layout, some water but not a huge amount. Greens are all aerated right now so putting isn’t great. Some bunkers are good, some are horrible. Overall a decent course for the money.

This is a fairly easy course to play. Not a lot of woods or water, but what is there can bite you unexpectedly! Fairways were in good shape. Some of the greens had been cut with a mower that was out of adjustment and had scalp lines in them. One of our foursome landed in a bunker and the pit was as much earth as it was sand, and packed. we told him to consider it a hazard! I used to play this course almost every Sat in a league. First time going back in over 10 years. Honestly, I can find more challenging courses in the area for less $$.

We played in foggy conditions as our choice. a memorable day for sure. the course is in good shape but really need to add sand to the bunkers. The price to play s always very good.

Course has potential, but needs better maintenance. Greens are like putting on Velcro … not sure the stimpmeter can read that low. Might be better later in the season as greens looked basically healthy.

This course is easy but fun. Anyone with time to play it should.

Only thing I would say is that the greens weren’t the most well maintained. Otherwise a quality course.

I would not recommend this course. I could let go of the quality if it was managed correctly. Teeing off in the morning, we were behind a family with 2 children, which is fine and I think kids should play. My partner and I hung back and allowed them to play their speed. We continually had the group behind us playing into us. At hole seven the marshal came out and yelled at us to pick up the speed. When stating we did not want to drive into the kids he said play into them. This is unacceptable. I would not want someone to be unsafe let alone hitting into a group with children. We went into the clubhouse and was told if the marshal said it then we need to follow. Again, choosing to disregard safety. We left the course and did not finish. We were playing at 1 hour 40 minute pace, by know means slow. Contacted course management, they have failed to respond at the time of this review. I would hope the consider starting groups on opposite 9s if they choose to over book. This is poor management on their part.

When looking for a place to play while visiting my son I found this on golf now. It had decent reviews so I thought why not….let’s give it a chance. The staff was super friendly. The course, not so great. The name ocean view will throw you off thinking you might see the ocean…you do not. The fairways and rough were in good shape, the greens were not. They were sand covered and inconsistent. I ended up joining up with a local and he said the greens were always like this. While it is a good course for the cost, not sure if I will come back and play this course when I visit again.
