Great first time
Despite the near freezing temperatures, the course was in great shape and is a very challenging layout. Greens rolled true and water hazards are well marked, which is nice since we had not played before. Will definitely play here again on future trips to MB.
Fun day on the links
We enjoyed another great visit to this course. Our 1st of 2023,but not our last.
We are snowbirds so we have been able to golf here several times in the last few years
The staff and hospitality here is great from bag drop off to the bar/food counter.
Considering it had rained very hard the previous day, only 5 holes were cart path only,so the course drains well.
The only issue I may have was the absence of a course Marshall…although this is vacation golf, the group ahead we’re slow and it might have sped up play a little if someone was there to give them a nudge..
Other then that,it was a great day
We have already booked again for this week..
Slow greens
Greens were like velcro. Slow so slow you had to overhit a putter. Which caused all kinds of frustration.
Close putts the grain dominated miss.
Long putts never got to the hole miss
When you pounded it it was exacerbated.
Slow play.
Usually a good value. This day there were several groups who seemed oblivious of the fact that there were other groups on the course. At least two foursomes quit and left. We like this course and the folks who run it but pace of play needs to be stressed and enforced.
This course is not for beginners
Let me start by saying, I’ma scratch golfer. I really really enjoyed this course. I picked this course as a warm up for the upcoming week. Little did I know, this course is a beast. Lots of forced carriers off the tree, water and tight tree lined. The layout is fun and demanding. The greens are slow but have to be with the undulation. Doing get me started on the Value. I paid $40…FORTY DOLLARS. That is ridiculously cheap for this golf course. Play it. Enjoy it. Bring it.
Condition
This course was great. Greens were perfect and the money to play was a great price. I would definitely go back.
Hidden treasure
A little bit of a drive for me, but well worth it. From the second you married the staff is over the top friendly. The free range ball is a pleasant surprise, nice putting green. Great greens, with a very nice layout. Unfortunately for me I turn the ball right to left, and the majority of shots felt left to right. I played it twice in a five day span, both times I hooked up with nice people and had a great time. I am only here another month, but I can tell you, I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!
Enjoyed the Course
My husband and i played the back 9. Weather was so nice. The pace of play was perfect. I hit a ball into the water and it skipped over it and landed on the green.
The greens were in such great condition.
When we return to Myrtle Beach, we will definitely play here again.
Disrespectful staff
When I arrived the starter ignored my group and we had to unload our bags. When he came back I asked when we were going out. He said that we would have to wait until he loaded us on the cart and then walked away again. There were not any other groups on site. We were 10 minutes before our scheduled tee time. He then explained that because we with golf now he would not send us early even though no one was on site. I then went inside to use the restroom. The person manning the desk was standing outside and heard the conversation. Before I could say anything he rudely explained that because we were golf now we would have to wait. He explained that we paid golf now and not him so we had to wait. Understandable ,but the tone and loudness of his voice in front of other patrons was uncalled for. He didn’t seem to be fond of his arrangements with golf now.
