Diamondback Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Staff
The staff went above and beyond for me I will play again…Pat is a true gentleman thank you
Diamond in the Rough
Diamondback is truly a special place amongst the locals. A great course that offers many turns and hazards. My wife and I have been playing there for a couple of years. Yesterday we had the best 9 hole round we have both ever played. We both shot in the 30’s and I think a lot of it was due to the relaxed atmosphere of this hometown course. Patrick is an exceptional host and is always smiling. The food and drink service is an added bonus. We relaxed after the round and just enjoyed one of the decks while having drinks. Top notch little course. Early in the season so the greens are still being worked.
Golf Diamondback
Course in pretty good shape , good challenge ,great weather enjoyable day.
Diamondback Golf Course is good but challenging.
The corse is in good shape. Fairways are well manicured, greens are ok. Staff is excellent.
Quite a few difficult holes. Not for beginners.
Nice course
The only problem I encountered with this course were the greens were in pretty poor shape
Nice afternoon on the course
2nd time playing here. I went as a single and was paired with a nice guy with similar ability. Course is in great shape, with the exception of some of the greens. They had been aerated and sanded, so were a little bumpy and slow in spots. otherwise is was an excellent round at a great price. I will be coming back every few weeks.
Condition
Greens were in poor shape with lines across most of the greens. Putting green was in the same condition. It was early in the season and hopefully it will improve.
Terrible Course Condition
All fairways are very hard, dry & basically have about 1/8th inch of grass. All greens have seams every 12 inches covering the entire putting area, just terrible.
No carts were available for my 1:13 pm tee time so We had to wait for someone to finish their round of golf.
The pace of play was also very slow and the entire experience was very frustrating and disappointing.

Most improved
We used to enjoy this course but last time we played 4 hrs ago it was not in good condition and we didn’t return. I read a few favorable reviews recently so we thought we give it a try. Not sure why or what part of the organization it was but the aesthetics of the course has improved greatly. The number of trees taken down and the brush that was cleared has made “junky” looking holes into gorgeous holes! The variety of holes after the changes makes for a fun experience.
The truth be told the fairways and greens need a bit help and playing the ball down is not always “fair” but I think the grass will improve with warmer weather.
It is a tight and tough layout and you better not be a sprayer of the ball or you are going to lose a ton of balls so pick the best tees for your ability levels
One to Avoid
There are many fine courses to play in Myrtle Beach: this is not one of them. This is not a Myrtle Beach course at all. This course is well outside of Myrtle and is a "locals" course. This course is poorly laid out and poorly maintained. This is a course where locals dressed in blue jeans and tee shirts play golf at a pace that suits THEM. Management makes no effort to keep the pace moving, as local players are their "bread and butter". This is a great place for the locals, but if you want to enjoy a nice course in Myrtle: don't play this one. If you do, expect poor conditions and a round that will take 5 to 6 hours.
Thank you for taking the time to review and leave your feedback of your recent round with us. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience you experienced at the course with us. Over 5hour round
Pro shop manager couldn’t guarantee my specific time needed to check with starter as he was busy with about 15 golfers around him.Green speed was irritating and irregular from one green to the next.
1st and last time to play here

course was in good shape
the course was in good shape but we did not finish .we played the front 9 with another couple and we had to wait on every shot so at the end of 9 the other couple said they were tired of waiting so they left.we s started the back nine got to hole 11 and there was 4 groups of four on the tee waiting for the two groups in front of them. That was enough for us so we left we called the club house and they told us to be patient because there was a lot of golfers in front of us
H! Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Diamondback Golf Course!
Playing 9
Only played the back nine - only $20 for 9 holes wasn't bad at all - pace of play was good until the 5th hole but we were still done in under 2hrs.
