About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Great Lay out, Slow greens
I got paired with 2 great guys. One was a member who owns Rockefellers Bar. Local knowledge plays well here.
We played the Copperhead tees. Plenty of challenge as the course narrows and offer sand and water on most holes. A great day out of the tee boxes and surprising iron play gave me a wonderful tour of this course.
But for my taste, the greens were painfully slow. It had been raining and I will attribute it to that. Though they rolled true, That. is my only knock on the course. A solid $45-$50 round. A great value at anything less.
Great day on the course
Love the picturesque layout with most holes framed by Carolina pines. Course was in good shape - a couple of greens were a little rough but flag position away from the rough spots made it a non issue. Staff was great and played in 4 hours!

Diamondback
Booked this as a play out course when driving back to NY. We thought that by playing early, we would avoid any pace of play issues. Wrong. Course was full and they put our 2 some out in the middle of a bunch of foursomes. No ranger and I think it was close to 5 hrs when teeing off at 0745. Course is nice enough, bunkers were well maintained and decent grass in the fairways. Greens had some paint and were a little slow. I cannot imagine how long the round was for those with a late tee time. Decent enough course, but expect to wait.

Great hole layout
Best thing I noticed was no fairways run side by side great layout back nine greens a little thin for the course to be full pace of play wasn't bad real friendly staff would play again

Fairways are pretty narrow and surrounded by crispy yellow grass so you have to be very precise, greens are in good shape
Great place to play two different 9s
Great course wish we could've played in better weather worth the drive.

Pace of play
First time playing course pace of play was atrocious 5:15 ok conditions green’s were below average.
