About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Disappointing
Got a good deal on Golfnow so I wasn't concerned about the half hour drive. The course however was wet making for a sloppy game. Insufficient ball washers to clean the clubs after shots. No drinking water. Containers were there but no water. Greens were inconsistent, some holding shots while most bounced like pavement. Not a fair layout for high handicappers or women. Too many carries over hazards (water or bunkers) in front of greens. I liked the challenge because I am a single digit handicap but my wife did not enjoy it because of the long carries.
the fairways were in great shape
The staff were all friendly. the pin placement one front nine seemed to be on a downhill slip. Backside greens were very bumpy. The pace of play was not fast but but it was a beautiful day still enjoyable! We were paired with a fun couple We had a fantastic time

Was great played with a nice couple from Mass course in good shape for early March good value for our money will play again

Great day at diamondback
Had a 3 1/2 hour 18 on this fun course which as a nice blend of challenging and birdie holes. Would definetly return.
Over booked
This was our third time playing this course. I should have learned from the first 2 that they habitually over book. Waited over an hour to get off from scheduled tee time. We were paired up with another twosome and play in front of us was very slow. We will not go back or recommend this course.

Not enough carts!
It's difficult rating this course because our round got off to such a bad start. When we arrived there were at least 30 golfers waiting for golf carts and many had already been waiting more than 30 minutes. There was a lot of grumbling about the odds of being able to complete rounds before it got too dark to play because of the long wait for carts and the expected slow play.
The two gentlemen who were doling out the carts were friendly and polite but that didn't offset the frustration many of us were feeling. The whole process was disorganized and it didn't help when they put out many golfers in pairs rather than linking players and making foursomes. We saw one group of 4 go out with 3 carts!
At least one pair left shaking their heads and saying they wouldn't be back.
We finally got a cart after a 45 minute wait and suggested to another couple who were waiting that they join us.
Diamondback is located about a 40 minute drive from central Myrtle Beach.
It has 5 sets of tee boxes so is playable for almost any skill level.
Our game on the back nine was more enjoyable than the front because at that point we didn't have many golfers in front of us and pace of play improved. We did manage to finish our round before it was too dark but were one of the last vehicles to pull out of the parking lot (Including staff!)
If we think about playing this course again I'll call ahead to check on wait time.
If it wasn't for all the frustration at the beginning I would recommend this course.

Very nice layout
This course is a treat to play very nice layout that challenges all levels of golfers, course was in great shape, a little wet because of the rain the day before, very friendly staff
Very nice course
Course was well looked after and in good condition for this time of year. Will play it every time I come to this area.
Over booked
1240 tee time arrived 12 pm checked in, cashier never said a word went outside gave my ticket to the starter he said they were behind, 1240 rolled along no balls for the range and still no sign of getting out, no carts for customers, 120 rolled along customers leaving in frustration, 140 headed to the first tee ,one hour delay with no reason,, course was wet, greens were going through a change uneven growth,,, pace of play slow,, finished in the dark 6 pm,,, not impressed

Great course
We enjoyed our outing at Diamondback Golf Club today..
Although it was very busy,the staff handled the situation well..the problem seemed to be cart availability.
We enjoy golfing here.great course,great staff fun times..
The booking process though Golf Now went very smoothly and there were no issues at check in

Out of the way delight
Super friendly staff, very nice layout, a lot of people working on the upkeep. This is a very nice course for the money. I will definitely play this a few more times before we leave.

Enjoyable
Course was in nice shape. Cart path only a lot of rain yesterday. Considering the rain bunkers were in excellent shape tees and fairways great. Greens were as good as any rolled great. A bit out of the way but worth it. Great price free range balls and very friendly I come down every winter and always enjoy it here. My thanks to the course management.

Course was extremely wet two days after a heavy rain. Very tight and not friendly for women to play.
