Nice course with lots of challenges!
We enjoyed playing on this course! Fairways were in great condition.
Diamond in the rough
Wow.... what a surprise I got when I went to play this course......beautiful course fast greens...Youll use every club in your bag ...a fair test of one's golfing skills ...I'll be back
After heavy rain, the course was wet but we still appreciated the layout.
Nice and challenging course. Very friendly. Nice place. Would recommend
A Diamond in the rough off the beaten path
A very good course for the money. I always rate a course by the greens first, fairways second and then tee boxes third. That is what you are paying for when you play. The greens where in excellent condition with consistent roll and speed. Fairways were cut and defined well. Tee boxes were also cut and had a good variation. The layout I really liked because it is just the course with a few houses on the outside edge of the course. Very good layout with a good mix of easy to difficult holes. Our foursome played in 3 hours and 50 mins despite the other 3 had never played the course. The course is in front of you with no tricks. I would recommend this course to any golfer.
Good layout
Each hole seemed like an area that was carved for just 1 hole. No other holes can be seen. Lots of dog legs. Greens very good. Pin placements need to be considered as several on the top of a hump. Interesting layout. Staff seemed indifferent and not too welcoming.
Challenging for a novice
Beautiful course and friendly staff. Couldn’t be happier.
Great course
Great course and layout greens are in excellent shape and very fast. Only problem was pace of play had a foursome in front of us and they took their time and never asked us to play through
Nice course
Fun course to play. Green in great shape. Large greens. Fair course to play highly recommend
Love the corse challenging holes in a very rural setting
very quiet there were wild turkeys on some holes
range balls included I play this corse every fall when I come down to MB
Not a bad course for the money
I played this course because my home course (Meadowlands) was booked full. You can really tell the difference in the location of this course on a very hot day as it's 25+ miles inland from the beach so there's not much of a breeze. The temp was in the mid 90's the day I played. The no seeums' and nats were bad also. as far as toilets on the course... I saw one porta-potty. For a hacker like myself, it was a good deal overall.
Great Day of Golf
Couldn't ask for a better day of golf. Maybe a lower score but I will work on that :)
Nice Course
Fun course to.play. Lots of challanges on the course. Watch out for water and be sure to play conservatively around the water holes.
Diamond
Woodland Valley aka Diamond Back. Gem. Great value, conditions, friendly, and love courses that don’t have houses all over the course!
Hidden Gem
This course is clearly "out-of-the-way" for the Myrtle Beach golf market. Probably only those who live near Loris, SC regularly play the course. For me, it's a 45-minute drive --- but well worth it. Holes #11 and #12 were difficult for me, and the others were very challenging. The course layout is excellent and condition of the greens couldn't be better! In spite of the distance, I'll still try to play this course a couple times a year.
Great Golf
The course was in excellent shape considering it was the end of the hottest season. I was impressed with the greens since they weren't burned out as I expected. I played alone since they weren't that busy at 11am. I am a 6 Handicap golfer so it was a bit disappointing that I shot an 80. Of course wet fairways produced no roll, I had mud on my ball on several occasions and I did not know anything about the course so the blind holes took their toll. I know, golfers excuses...
The staff was very friendly. Overall, it was a pleasure to play there. Great golf course.
Challenging for first time golfer(s)
This was my first time playing thiis course my original tee time was at 8:24a and the starter allowed me to go out alone twenty minutes early. As a first timer the course was challenging in terms of hinden trouble with water and green side bunkers. The course and greens condition were in good shape and they rolled true.
The staff was friendly and willing to help upon request. After my round I asked the starter if, I could hit range balls he replied, have at it! Struggling with my driver he saw my pain and offered some helpful advice. I was hitting the driver the best I've ever hit it off the tee box! I looked for him before I left to offer my upmost appreciation but I was unsuccessful in locationing him.
I would recommend this track to anyone looking for a challenging and fun course.
Overall the course was in good shape and layout was good. Played the tips and at 6900 yards a good practice and requires plenty of shots to be precise. Greens were pretty smooth overall but ran medium speed. It is a good course for the low amount of money you pay for it. recommend it
