Diamondback Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Hole #6 Photo submitted by DintheRough17 on 01/29/2017
Our start time was delayed 50 minutes due to a high school tournament but once we got going we played in 3 1/2 hours.
Fairways are narrow so keep the ball in the middle and you’ll be fine.
Great weather, good golf course.
Every hole had at least 2 groups. Very crowded, so our round started at 1:47 and was not completed until 6:45. Extremely big crowd for a Thursday afternoon.
Nice BUT challenging course
Bring your A game, some trouble on every hole. Course was in great shape, fairways were well maintained as were the tee boxes. Greens were very difficult to read, all 4 of us struggled to read them, they were quick and slippery. Might want to bring extra balls as,water comes into play often.
It was crowded but pace was good, golf carts had empty divot cups which was a shame,we could’ve use them if supplied to repair divots. Very few ball washers and trash cans available at tee boxes.
Slow play
Usually love this course play it many times today however it was cart path only on all holes and it didn’t need to be and played a 4hr 50min. Round. Course in great shape excellent friendly staff
Very accessible
Good course for beginners or seasoned golfers. Laid back. Excellent staff. Great Value.
Great time with new friends
I played as a single and was paired with a family from Canada. Two of them were members and very familiar with the course which helped a lot.The fairways were green and rolled out nicely. The tee boxes were green and flat and the greens rolled around a 10.The course had no houses on it and pace of play was great. I am going to make this course a must play when I return to the area.
Will return
Very friendly staff excellent greens tees and fairways very good bunkers ok. Highly recommend. I drove down from NY. Had a 12:30 tee time but was here at 8am. Called to play early said they would get me in and did. Also honored the price I had I have played here many times people treat you great every time good price for nice course. THANKS Diamondback
Disappointed
I was stuck behind a group of 5 golfers for the last 9 holes. Since when are fivesome allowed? Very disappointing!
Hello Dennis, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Great shape
Nice layout, course was in really good condition. Would play again
Sunday at Diamondback
Great coarse condition with the exception of the bunkers. Very hard and not maintained. There was a group of 6 in front of us that we caught on the back 9, called the Pro Shop and they took care of it immediately.
Will certainly return.
Great day with new friends
I was a single and was paired with a nice family from Canada. I was impressed with the layout because it made you think about every shot.Tee boxes and fairways and greens in great shape. The greens rolled around a 10 and rolled true. I will definitely be back to play Diamondback because of the vaule on Golfnow.
Slow Play Kills!
We started play on hole #10 and all went well for 9 holes. However, when we proceeded to hole #1 we discovered that busloads of high school students were ahead of us, all walking and playing extremely slowly, with no regard to the many groups backing up behind them. We advised the marshall of the pace of play and were informed that the students were supposed to allow us to play through - this did not happen until after 6 holes when he again reminded them. An acceptable 1 hour and 50 minutes for our first 9 holes was followed by 2 hours and 45 minutes for our second nine holes - not a lot of fun!

Great course in very good condition. Fairways are almost summer rule and even if our starting time was at 12:30 we played it in 4 hours.
This course is tough!need to have your whole game ready or your in for a long day
Hidden GEM!
Staff treated the three of us like a member. First time playing, WON’T be the last!! Fantastic experience. The breakfast fixed for us was also a treat! See you in August!
