The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.

This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Good Course

We played this course because of a Hot Deal and positive reviews on GolfNow. It did not disappoint. This is a great layout, and with more time and TLC it will be a course you'll have to play every time you're in the area. The greens weren't perfect, but they were very good and very playable. The fairways were firm, and they are fairly narrow in places, so you better be hitting the ball where you aim, or you will be in trouble. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Middle of the road

I've played many different courses in Myrtle Beach over the years and nothing stood out about the course. The greens were very slow.

The price made this a good option at 39 pp but if you are expecting anything more that a cheap reasonably challenging you'll be disappointed based on the 4* reviews.

Unforgiving

Very narrow fairways so accuracy is critical. If the ball goes into the rough it will be very difficult to find it. Be prepared to lose balls. You score will be higher than you expected.

Fairways and Greens were in very nice shape. The Greens had some tricky slopes.

Double booked with high school tournament

The course looked great but I was extremely disappointed to get to course and find out and 5 high school tournament was taking place and golfnow was still booking! Course should of been closed for tournament so not so slow took 5 1/2 hours to play! Very disappointed!

Course was in pretty good shape. Greens were great and a pleasure to put on after poor greens at another course earlier in the week. Course is tough, especially in windy conditions which we had. The front is tougher than the back. A good course and worth the extra distance from MB given the condition of the course.

If the course conditions were better the green fees would have been acceptable. Nice layout with challenging holes. Once used to the 5+- hour rounds pace of play tolerable.

Pleasant surprise

Staff excellent at bag drop......got off early.

Followed a slow group on the front, who let us through on 11, that made for a quick round.

Course in good condition and lots of water. Could prove difficult and frustrating for high handicappers.

Enjoyed our trip to MB area and decided to do an extra day off our package. Chose Diamond Back as we had never played it before. Thoroughly enjoyed the course. Greens were fast and true. Plenty of sand tho and it came into play on practically all holes. Well designed layout.

Pretty busy course

Played an afternoon round. There seemed to have a league event going on.

Course condition was ok fairways were not very "grassy" had grass but not thick. Greens were in decent condition given the time of year.

Had a good time, joined another twosome for the round.
