Hole #6 Photo submitted by DintheRough17 on 01/29/2017
Off the beaten path, but worth it
Great experience. We were a little concerned when we pulled into the parking lot as a large crowd were waiting to start. We checked in (friendly staff) and were sent out using starts on both nines. We were pleasantly surprised with the pace of play, rarely waited for the group in front of us.
The course was in good condition. The layout was challenging at times, but manageable. Just beware of #10, with a narrow chute to drive through off the tee and a large tree on the right. A little unfair position of the tree when you hit the middle of the fairway.
A very enjoyable round and a high recommendation from our group.
Nice place, GREAT PEOPLE !!!
Ryan, the pro's son was AWESOME...The course was in transition, but still nice...Great layout...Would defiantly play again !!!
Perfect for get away day
First time playing this course. We like to play a course north of the MB area on our drive back to VA after long golf weekend so gave this course a try. Course was wet due to a lot of rain they had over the last week so it was cart path only. understandable due to conditions. Greens were in good shape.
previous reviews indicated lack of signage and yardage markers. Our experience was all holes had T box signs with yardage provided for 4 or 5 T locations. Did not see plates on T's to give exact yardage so it's helpful to have GPS. pretty much all T's had ball washers as well. could use more trash cans for each T -- did not see very many. yardage is marked at 150 pole for each hole. Small red 100 markers are found in many fairways but you need to look hard for them due to smaller size than what you may be used to. some yardages also marked on cart path.
Course layout is nice. other reviews indicated it is too tight. As an avg golfer that typically hits from white tees and is not super accurate I don't think the course was excessively tight. i think it was reasonable and fair. was probably helped by wet conditions which kept my ball in fairways instead of rolling out from typical fade drive.
staff is very nice. had a nice lunch special of chili dog, chips and cold beverage after round. very nice place to enjoy a round and enjoy some time at the 19th hole. We will definitely be back.
staff very friendly
Staff was very friendly, excellent layout. A real sleeper a course you must try when visiting Myrtle. All the holes are different and don't seem like your playing the same hole over and over. Can't wait to play this course again.
Good day
Funny, can't best the price. Greens were slow, course in reasons conditions with done real wet spots
Great round of golf, played in 3 1/2 hours
Teamed with another golfer and had the course to ourselves at the 8:30am tee time on Sunday. Enjoyed the course layout even though 3 fairways were soggy from heavy rains the night before. Good test for all players.
Great course
A little piece of home at the beach. We live in Western Maryland.Friendly staff . My son and I played 18 in under three hours. Definitely worth the drive.
Challenging course
I've only been golfing for about two months. This course was very challenging for me being a beginner. The clubhouse was very nice, staff was friendly and the fairways in good shape. Most of the greens were in great shape, but there were a few holes where they needed some love. Most of the rough parts were on the outer perimeter of the green, so putting wasn't really hindered. I agree with previous posters that the course needs yardage markers, signs indicating what hole you're on and if its a par 3, par 4 or par 5. Other than that, I enjoyed my visit and will play here again.
expecting better, was recommended by a pro at the PGA store in Myrtle Beach. Need to take bug spray.
Greens were a little rough. Place needed some TLC. will not play again.
This course is great
Course is in good shape.Worth taking trip from myrtle beach.Course is very challenging. Oh by the way we never saw a snake.Greens fees are real reasonable.Take a break from all the busy courses in Myrtle Beach and try this course you wont be disappointed .
Diamondback is a course that should be on everyone's playlist
From the moment they greet you at the bag drop, until you drive out of the parking lot at the end of your round, the staff really do appreciate you playing at their course. The club house has a good menu that will satisify most hungers either between 9's or at the end of your round.
The course is in fabulous shape and you can see the improvements are being made.
The greens were a bit rough due to the late frost they recieved... but even after 3 inches of rain 2 days ago the course recovered well with no wet spots.
Fabourite par 4 is number 4 .. a dogleg right with water to carry and an elevated green with water on 3 sides ... You need to be careful on that second shot. Anything too far left or long and you'll fall off into the water.
Favorite par 3 is number 9. 128 yards all carry over water .... They removed the bunker that was in front of the green.... but the ground is so soft that a shot missed short will plug ....
Overall a great course and challenging from all tee blocks
Highly recommend you put Diamondback on your playlist
Ranks as one of the worst rounds ever......
We were not told it was cart path only until we read it on a sign on the first hole. The group playing behind us stayed on top of us even though we were waiting on the group ahead of us the whole round. The greens were in bad shape from airateing, need more sand rounding. Would not play there again.

Course is hurting right now
We heard the course was okay but at this time it's not in great shape. Apparently they lost their greens last year and you can tell because they slice seeded them and they were only about 60%. Fairways were marginal. There are no tee markers to tell you what hole you are on. Outside of the 150 stake in the fairway, there are no yardage markers. There are no ball washers on the course. This course has potential but it needs time to recover from whatever happened and it needs a significant investment in basic on-course amenities.
Good value for the money
Course is in good condition, but the mowing staff followed us around for 2/3 of the round, even though we motioned him through. I did report this to the pro shop after the round.
Diamondback Golf Enperience
Enjoyed the course. Greens a bit bumpy I assume from punching and not yet healed. Will play again.
Ok course
Still recovering from summer reseeding, but in reasonable condition. Tees needed cutting and levelling.
Great review, thanks...playing today !!!
