Diamondback Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Diamondback Golf Enperience
Enjoyed the course. Greens a bit bumpy I assume from punching and not yet healed. Will play again.
Ok course
Still recovering from summer reseeding, but in reasonable condition. Tees needed cutting and levelling.
Beautifull lay out.course condition was very good except the greens, very bumpy uneven growth of the grass..
Challenging Course
Diamondback is a challenging course as the tee shots are pretty tight. Greens and fairways in decent condition and play moved right along. A little out of the way but all in all, a good value for the money.
Challenging course
It had rained heavily the previous day so the course still had several wet spots, including the sand traps. About half the greens were in poor shape, but still puttable. Challenging layout, with trees lining all holes. Second time playing the course and will play again the next time in Myrtle Beach.
Very Wet
Course should probably have closed. Standing water every where difficult to find a dry spot. Greens were in poor shape. Would book with caution.
Nice day overall
The course layout is actually very good, I was pleasantly surprised.
Initially I wasn't expecting much as they started us on the 10th which is probably the worst of the 18-holes as you have to hit over a ditch area, but after that the whole course is very nice.
Tee boxes were good and fairways not bad considering it hasn't rained in about 3-weeks.
The only issue I had was the greens!
It was a hit a hope situation at almost every green, I'm not sure they've been rolled in quite a while and was sparse in places
Other than that, not a bad course value for money and I would come back
Staff and Members were exceptional!!
Was a single and Patrick and his son Ryan were able to squeeze me in with two wonderful lady members. Had price from Golf now of $60 and Patrick only charged me $32. Members I played with Mary and Cindy were great and invited to stay after for the member dinner that evening. The hospitality and kindness was outstanding. Will be back later this summer and hopefully run into the same kind people. Keep up the good work and the greens will come in soon!
SCARY NAME BUT GREAT COURSE
First time for playing Diamondback. It's challenging enough to keep you interested but easy enough to keep you coming back. Tee's and fairways are in great shape but greens still need a bit of work. I'm sure once the season progresses they'll be as good as the rest of the course. Had a good time and will be back to try it again.
Greens were not up to their usual standards, bumpy.
great layout, lots of water.
I played for the first time here and was informed there was a slight delay due to a shortage of carts for the amount of golfers in line to play, but managed to get out only 10 minutes late. The greens were bumpy due to sand and fertilizer so we only 2-putted, making up for it. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was outstanding.
Off the beaten Path.
I liked the layout. The greens are dome shaped and somewhat of a challenge. However, they were not in good shape when we played. Course is tight but fair. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
All Good
Concidering the time of the year and the weather conditions. The course was in fine shape. The staff was on top of their game. Paid $21.00 for 18 holes with a cart are you kidding me. Deals like this don't come around everyday. I'd play there everytime I come diwn. There are other great courses in the area of course. Enjoyable round.
It's getting better!!
This was our second trip to Diamond Back and maybe our last. The course layout is challenging but fair. The conditions are improving but still have a long way to go. The greens are healing but could still use your prayers! Compared to the other 3 courses we played this week, it was by far the worst but for $25 dollars, priced correctly. We were staying in Myrtle Beach so it was a good 45 minute drive to the course. We drove past a lot of well maintained courses to get there, so that's the biggest reason we probably won't return. If you live in this area or you are looking for a round before you check in and its on your way, play it. Just don't drive an hour and pass some great courses just to save a couple of bucks!!
Greens in bad shape and no marshall
The course layout is really nice and there are some challenging holes. The fairways were in great shape but greens were aerated, dry and very rough. I was a single and merged with another single ahead of me but the 3 groups ahead of us were slow. Although we were done in 4 hours, we could have finished in 3. The starter was real nice and very helpful. People playing there were very nice and friendly as well. I will play again when greens are back in shape.
