Diamondback Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Diamondback
I really enjoy this course. It's tight but fair. It was very wet due to the excessive but that was true of all the courses in Myrtle Beach. Have played it when it was dry, and it was enjoyable and challenging. I highly recommend this course. They will not soak you price-wise either!!
Larry
Great conditions, big challenge, love the layout
Good drive from Myrtle Beach
Nice layout, well maintained. Only problem is the 40 minute ride from Myrtle Beach.
Great Value
Had a great time today. Pro shop staff and bag drop staff were great. Only a few other groups on the course. Good layout and a good test. Greens appeared to have been punched in last 3-4 weeks but we're in good shape. Fairways, bunkers and tees as well. I would definately recommend you make the trip to play this track.
Anything goes...never again!
Another low country conglomerate golf course with no ranger. Thought this course was going to be great based on the reviews. As an optimist, what a waste of my time.
Be prepared to play behind a family of seven all on the tee box at once, and a four some of old men that think they own the course.
I am a fair golfer (10 handicap), and business man neither of which is welcomed at this course. I took a risk to enjoy the 30 mile ride out, and was extremely dissatisfied. I would not recommend Diamondback. Amongst numerous courses closing in the MB portfolio, this one may be next.
lack of maintenannce
The design of the course is great, the pace of play was great since we were alone on the course. But the condition of the course was hawfull there are weeds every where growing in the middle of the fairway and around the green. the fringe are covered with weed. The course is like going on a first date with a beautiful person but that person did not took a shower for week.
There are other course around with the same challenge in a way better shape. BTW bring a lot of balls there..
Great Bang for the Buck
You won't find more value for your money anywhere on the Grand Strand !!!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for the review. Come back soon!
Hot,hot course but if you can keep cool it's fun and challenging
Even though we played in 100 degree heat, the course was in really good shape. Some greens because of the heat were a little worn down, but overall it was a great round. Be careful playing this course there's water everywhere, which sometimes makes you use less than driver off the tees. It was fun and challenging
Thank you for the review! We are glad that you had a good day with us even in this summer heat! We're glad to have given you a bit of a challenge. Please come back and play another round with us!
good value...nice course
Challenging course...but not too hard. Worth the drive. We golf here every year.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for the review- we're happy you feel our course is worth your commute. Keep on coming back!!
this course caters to its members
Course was about what I expected it to be which is about average for the area. The problem we had was that we booked a 7:48 tee time, arrived ready to go and found 4 foursomes of members all with 7;30 times and a 5th that came after we arrived and checked in, all of which were sent out ahead of us even though we had a confirmed tee time. We went off 40 min. late and dealt with very slow play by the members, wont book here again.
We apologize for any inconvenience that the tee times before you may have caused and are sorry that your tee time was delayed 40 minutes. We would like to make this right with you. Please email us at diamondbackgolf@outlook.com. Thank you.
Early June @ Diamond Back
Course was in good shape, but some greens needed to be cut and some had multiple bare spots. Staff was very friendly and gladly accepted our GolfNow voucher.

Hidden Value
The course was in good condition and the greens were a little bumpy, but a member told us they were battling a fungus on the greens and they were excellent and smooth in the past. The layout was nice with challenges on doglegs and deciding wether to lay up or go for the greens. A good tee shot is rewarded and a poor one could have you in a lot of trouble. Pretty holes and peaceful setting. Worth the 30 min drive from North Myrtle to play, especially at the morning rate we booked. I'll play here many more times when I'm at the beach.

nice course bad greens
I have played Diamond Back a few times a love the lay out. It is always quiet and never crowded. My only complaint was the greens they were in poor shape and very bumpy. I really like this course and will definitely be back.

Nice layout
A little out of the way from Myrtle Beach...back nine very pretty
Diamound Back
The course was a little scruffy, the fairways were in need of work. The greens though rolled super fast.

Thank you for your feedback. We will address these issues internally and we hope you come back to play again in the future.
Not Impressed
Prior reviews for this course were a little misleading. The course was quite wet as we experienced 6 holes with Cart path only. This likely contributed to our round taking us over 5 hours to finish because the pace of play was dreadfully slow. The course can use a few more amenities (towels at ballwashers, decent washrooms on the course, hole description at each hole or better information about the holes on the scorecards). The greens were very quick but also many of the greens had weeds starting to grow on them.
I have played many courses in Myrtle Beach and area and found this course to be my least favourite to date.
That time of the year
Only concern was the green where extremely fast and difficult to read. It looked as if the grass was flat and rolled out. Although they did roll true, they rolled and rolled and rolled. :)
First Track of the Holiday
Great place to play, great value for the dollar. Back nine was a little wetter than the front and assume it just take longer to drive but not an issue with the round sun was shining and it was good to be out after the Canadian Winter. Greens were fast, but held on most shots just don't try to bump and run they seem to run forever. Staff were friendly and accommodating, Started even got us on the course 40 minutes ahead of our tee time. Will be back.
Great Staff
Drove about 40 minutes from Myrtle Beach. Great value for this course. We played after a huge storm and the course was hardly wet at all. The fairways are in great shape for being February! Not nearly as wet as the other courses we played this week. Greens are a little bumpy, but held pretty well.
Nice Course
Always a nice reliable course to play. Has different challenges, but still enjoyable. It's a bit out of the way, but worth the drive. Course is always in decent shape everytime I've played it.
sounds like the comments of a player who had a bad day and has to blame the course
