very good
My wife and I played at 1:30 on Sunday afternoon. No waiting and no one in front of us. Very enjoyable and course in very good condition . Playing time 2 1/2 hrs
Nice public Exec course
We played here on a Tuesday mid day and course was surprisingly busy. Had to wait for a cart to get off the course to use one. The pace was slow, but it was a gorgeous day and I saved money by not being at the casino! Greens were a little rough, but the rest of the course was in great shape. Very nice people in both the pro shop and the restaurant.
Fun Little Course
This short course offered a variety of shots and was in good condition. A great place to get in a quick 18.
Good time & good value!
I played here on 2/15/15. It was 18 holes with a cart... my friend booked it on Golf Now. He got a HECK of a deal at just $12/person.
I've played this course at least fifteen times before. The course is in very good condition. The bunkers seem to have sand that's (finally) a bit softer. I can remember a couple years back -- it was like concrete.
This was a Sunday afternoon... and the pace of play was pretty good. Only a couple times did we have to wait to hit. The course is self-policed... so, don't expect a Marshall to be out there. But, do not worry, everyone basically gets along. We finished in juuuust under three hours. No complaints.
The pro shop can get backed up. Most often there is just one fella in there working the register/computer/etc.... This last time there were a few hiccups with eight people waiting to pay (and the credit card machine stalled). Just make sure you're there a few extra minutes before your round.
The course has a ton of par 3's ... with some par 4's mixed in. You wont be reaching for the driver too often.
Since the first time I've played this course (which was in 2012), there has never been a beverage cart out on the course... but, you're warned about this in the pro shop. So, load up (if it's warm weather) in the snack/bar area.
The greens rolled "TRUE", and I really enjoyed the afternoon!!!
Not too bad
For being an executive course, it was surprisingly fun to play. It is a bare bones course, with no cooler, GPS , towels, tees, etc. But for the value, for a quick round of golf (3 1/2 hours) it was well worth the small fee to play. The course was in very good condition.
Great course for the Price
Overall, the course was great and allows an average golfer to work on their short game. Nice track for the money and I look forward to playing it more often.
Review
I played a great game and enjoyed the course, but the walkers were extremely slow. In fact there were a minimum of six carts backed up behind us due to a trio that were walking. No course marshall. I really doubt that we will return to this course due to the slow "pace of play".
Slow slow slow
brutal day on the course. 2.5 hrs to play 9 holes and then when we made the turn, had another 3some sneak in when we used the rest room and the group proceeded to take 4 shots each to the green on a 165 yrd par three. This course is only for hackers, even though beautiful don't waste your time if you actually want to play golf and NOT watch golf. WE only played 9 holes and left disgusted, I would have asked for refund but ill never go back.
short course
Great course for working on your game. Can use all your clubs. Great for working on your bunker game
slow almost crawling
Good course...just grab a cart and play...forget about the pro shop unless you get there an hour early. 20 minutes just to bye a golf towel with no line. I was so mad I tore it up and threw it in the parking lot. Shame....fun to play....was.
Staff Makes It Hard To Enjoy Your Round
I've played here 3 times. Its a nice executive course that plays in 3 hours. First time we played there was a very nice lady at the desk. The second time an older man overcharged me but didn't know how to issue a credit so he gave me a coupon for a free round instead. We came back to use the free round because it expired in a couple of weeks. The guy at the desk, Chuck, told me the card was no good because I used Golf Now to make my reservation. He was a real jerk about it so I told him to cancel our tee time and he decided to take the coupon but continued to give me grief about it. Then he pulled up on the first tee as I was about to hit to continue his rant. I'll never play here again.
fun executive course.
I was late and they still let me on even though it was packed. Nice staff. Decent layout. Wife loved the short course
kcp
Very fun course for high handicap, or infrequent golfers, but also is challenging for better players. Good pace to play. Greens were in good condition, challenging, and plenty of bunkers with a little water thrown in for good measure. If you play the back tees it is a very challenging course, but fun for other golfers who can choose another tee location. Friendly staff, and great price
good for executive gourse
am new to area and did not realize when booking it was an executive course.in very good shape but thought price of $35 was high for this length of course
Great outing
Great shape extremely pleased with the facilities.even had a hole in one
Durango hills executive
My wife and I played here last Sunday and had a great time. This executive course is great for us, give us time to work on our irons and still break out our driver on a couple tees.
Durango hills definitely gives you a bang for the buck especially with a groupon price.
Thanks for the great round, ATM
Peaceful Meditation at Durango Hills Golf Club
It was great time at Durango Hills Golf Club: Beautiful weather and good course condition.
Just OK
The water drainage is horrible maybe it's because their overwatering and the greens are surrounded by cement sand traps. I will not be going back
Weekend Golf
For a municipal course, this course is well taken care of. The carts are always in good condition and the course is walker friendly. The staff is always courteous and attentive. Due to land constraints, there's no driving range, but the putting area is good for practice. The greens are well maintained, and since the overseeding, have grown in nicely. As for the bunkers, well........ those have never been "sandy". Bunker shots here are like shooting off of concrete. Not many opportunities for driver shots and most won't go thru their full bag of clubs. But most beginners will find it challenging enough and the course for all others is an upgraded par three course. Lots of birdie opportunities for advanced golfers. Overall, it's a nice course with not too many obstacles for beginners
the course is a great executive except ...
the course was in great shape & the greens were the best i have ever seen them.
.... but i wish the city would spend a little cash on the simplest thing ... like a few truck loads of sand for the traps??
i really dont think they have replaced the sand in the bunkers since the opening of the course... i mean no one wants to hit into a bunker in the first place, but then have to hit out of a hard as a rock lie and expect any kind of satisfactory results....com'on
great little course.
