Legacy Golf Club sits on 28 acres of Dwight B. Heard's turn-of-the-20th-century ranch, home to 1902 silos that decorate the 18th fairway - once the tallest manmade things in Maricopa County. More history is on the first tee, in the Sierra Vista House which counts among its early-1900s visitors Theodore Roosevelt and Pancho Villa.

Gary Panks designed the golf course at the Legacy Golf Club, giving it lush fairways, strategic hazards and manicured greens to test all golfers. Native flora grows from the landscape, and the club's elevation offers a vista of Camelback Mountain, Squaw Peak and the skyline of Phoenix.

First time at The Legacy

Played the Legacy golf course in Phoenix for the first time. Some friends invited us and said they really liked the course. We had a great day. Pace of play was very good for a public course. The pro shop and outside service people were excellent. The course was in very good condition and very fun to play. Will definitely come back to play again!

Spring golf

Very nice course, not overly difficult. Bunkers will penalize you ( in good shape)just very deep/steep. Greens are fast. Tee time time was just before 7:00 am, finished at just about 4 hours. Highly recommend.

Legacy golf phoenix

Great course, friendly staff, free driving range with green purchase. We played late,3:30 in the afternoon in March, 87 degrees . We only made it to the 15th hole before dark. We definitely recommend for average golfers looking for a decent place to go.

Great course for the price

This was one of the nicest courses I have played for under $100. The greens rolled pretty well, the fairways were well maintained and the amenities were great as well.

Nice course, fair layout. Very nice staff at all levels. Great pace of play. Not overly pricey but can be depending on tee time. Would play again.

Beautiful course!

I don’t play, I’m just the designated cart driver for my husband. But this is one of the best courses in Phoenix we’ve been to lately. Well kept fairways and greens, two cart girls! (Rare these days), nice clubhouse, attentive staff, range balls included. Food at the restaurant was also great. Nothing bad to say! Checked all our boxes.

Challenge Abound

Nice challenging course. Deep bunkers but with compacted sand (rained the night before). Thought it was pricey, but we are during spring training.

Food was very good. Wanted a bite before going out but there was a large group that pre-ordered so we ended up going to the outside shack. Did go after the round for a full meal which was great.

Sand Trap Concrete

Great course to play. Layout good. Conditions good except for the sand traps! Watch out! Many fairway bunkers and greens protected by them. They are hard packed sand and tough to get out of well.

Overall the course was enjoyable. Well maintained & easy to navigate.

An area which might be considered for improvement would be the concession for Gluten Free options.

Great Course, Perfect Weather, Slow Play

I have always enjoyed the course! I have two complaints - sand traps have no sand and it took us 5:15 to play!

Course Marshals

Played 18 holes finished at 4 hours and 5 minutes … harassed at least 3 times on back 9 saying that we were 45 minutes behind pace (I assume because the group in front of us stopped at the turn). Not fun to play rushed golf.

Great Course, Slow Play

Everything about the course was great. Practice area is really nice. Staff was super friendly. Pace of play was awful. It should not take almost 5-1/2 hours for 4 people to play 18 holes on a Thursday afternoon. Shout out to the 4-some in front of us (2 men, 2 women) who were both terrible at golf and wicked drunk. Maybe being drunk made them bad golfers, but I doubt it.

Highly Recommend

Came to Scottsdale for a long weekend, knowing that golf prices would be high due to it being prime season and baseball spring training season. Checked out the reviews of many course in the area and chose Legacy because of the consistent good reviews about course conditions. Staff were very friendly and the course in great shape. Challenging but fair layout that our grouo of 6 people - from 7hcp to 28hcp - all enjoyed.
