Legacy Golf Club sits on 28 acres of Dwight B. Heard's turn-of-the-20th-century ranch, home to 1902 silos that decorate the 18th fairway - once the tallest manmade things in Maricopa County. More history is on the first tee, in the Sierra Vista House which counts among its early-1900s visitors Theodore Roosevelt and Pancho Villa.

Gary Panks designed the golf course at the Legacy Golf Club, giving it lush fairways, strategic hazards and manicured greens to test all golfers. Native flora grows from the landscape, and the club's elevation offers a vista of Camelback Mountain, Squaw Peak and the skyline of Phoenix.

Starting show summer wear & tear

Played the Legacy after reading the reviews. I was slightly disappointed. Would I play it again, maybe, only saying maybe because of ALL the other options in the Valley. I might play it again this summer, however probably not for $50. Course is in decent shape. It’s starting to show the wear & tear from play in the AZ summer & the heat is starting to stress the fairways. Several fairways are starting to get burned up & bare grass. Tee boxes are somewhat ok and greens are in decent shape. It doesn’t appear they have areated yet.

Father's Day round with the boys

Course was in great shape, with the exception of the bunkers.

I know you are not supposed to hit into them, but when you do and there is little to no sand in them it makes them difficult to hit out of.

You'll never go wrong playing Legacy. Resort course, wide open fairways. Hard to get in too much trouble off the tee. Fun course, always in good shape. Definite bargain in the summer months. Front nine was slow due to a cart problem a couple of groups ahead. Ranger fixed the problem, and pace of play sped up remarkably.
