Brooksville Country Club
About
Brooksville Country Club offers a uniquely scenic experience with a rolling landscape covered with live oaks and remnants of the abandoned limestone mine still present throughout. The surroundings are unlike any other golf courses in central Florida, which has made it popular amongst both locals and visitors. Besides the beautiful scenery, the terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that make each hole unique. The traditional layout features contoured, rolling fairways and four memorable holes that play along and through a century-old quarry. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging as you head towards the back nine, which was designed by Bobby Weed. It is a layout that demands precision and rewards skillful shotmaking. In addition to the unique setting and challenging design, Brooksville Country Club also boasts immaculately conditioned fairways and greens.

This quarry hoole will challenge your driver and mid irons. Photo submitted by Edsgolfin on 10/18/2012
Was nice
Played here a few times but not in the last 2 yrs.. It is now a COW PASTURE.. you can lose ur ball in the fairway now. Greens were recently aerated but still no excuse for the high grass on the greens. We had to make a rule that it's an automatic 2 putt once ur on the green. U really had to blast it to get to the hole. Having a true putt was a joke. The fairways were extremely crab grassy & had good size areas of sand traps scattered about which weren't really sand traps. The rough was really ruff & hadn't seen a mower in a while. All in all, NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN..
Down hill
This course used to be one of my favorites. but for some reason it has gone downhill the greens the fairways very poor condition. I would not recommend it to anybody deeply depressed cuz I used to love this course specially the canyon part of it.
Staff was very friendly but definitely short handed. Trying to do to much with too little. At the turn we waited in the pro shop for nearly 20 minutes, waiting to purchase refreshments.
Very underwhelming
Was very disappointed in my hometown golf course I heard so many great reviews from friends who played there as early as last year but I got there it was a mess club house needed to be landscaped. Also, the course was very subpar with exception of 12/13/14 everything else was horrible grass was super high greens had giant dirt patches just very disappointing with the new owners running it into the ground
Always Fun at Brooksville
We finished the round in 3 1/2 hours between rainstorms. The bunkers were holding water and it made play easier and scores were good.
hardly anyone playing this day.
The greens on the back 9 Quarry side were better condition than on the front side. you can tell there working on them but its tough in Florida.
we played two putt rule on those sandy greens.
all in all a great day with my golf Buddy.
Save your money
Save your money, play somewhere else. Fairways and greens in very bad condition
Good value, poor greens
The greens were pretty bad. Other than that the course was about the same.
They now have a cart gal
Fairways are cut and in shape.
So So to needs help
Greens needed lots of help. Tee boxes had very little grass
Unique, fun, and challenging course
I always love playing at this course. The layout is potential is outstanding. Unfortunately he last couple times I've played this course over the last couple months, the greens are half dirt (it does look like its being addressed on the back 9), the "rough" is similar to an uncared for back yard, water/ponds are all algae ridden, and landscape is very over grown. If this naturally beautiful course was invested into, it could easily be one of the nicest courses in the country. On the other hand, the fairways and everything else were in great shape. Either way, I'll always be excited to play here and definitely recommend. Very fun and challenging course!
Course has gone way downhill.
Course needs major work, tee boxes we’re starting to look rough.
Greens were in the worst shape I’ve ever seen them at this course,
No food at course except small snacks.
They aeriated the greens not to long ago and it’s just in extremely bad shape.
Especially not mentioning a temporary green on 18.
Played the front 9 as a twosome in 1 hour 15 mins
Back 9 took 3 hours…
Always enjoy the quarry holes but I won’t be back for a long time until conditions improve.
Rough greens
Looked like the greens had been aerated and still had sand on them. Some of the greens were peeling up and had bare spots. Maybe it has been the lack of rain but they were definitely in rough shape.
Greens Need Work
First comment is I really like this course and I hope they can get the greens back. 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16 all had 20% or more of the greens surface in poor condition. 17 was one of the worst and 18 was a temporary green short or the actual green. With similar courses in the area typically $50+ maybe that’s why this one was $40 today.
Greens need a lot of work
I have golfed this course many times and this is the worst Ive seen. My recommendation is not to go until greens are. It looks like their not trying to improve them!
SAD
Worst condition in many years. Several greens very bad and just overall not good. They are working on everything so will play again in the future. Love the back 9 layout!!!
Brooksville
The course was just brought and the new owners are trying to upgrade the course and the amenities. The course very dry. The cart paths were poor conditions. Overall we had fun playing it for the first tmie. I would recommend Brooksville.
Wait for course conditions to improve
Course is not in the best shape. Fairways are inconsistent, some greens should be considered unplayable. Pace of play is too slow. They need a marshall out there keeping an eye on things, and encouraging more golfers to play 'ready golf" The 18th green is closed, and there was never any mention of this when we checked in. It's a good track, in general, and some fun holes, but there are many more things that could be done to elevate the experience playing this course.
