Brooksville Country Club offers a uniquely scenic experience with a rolling landscape covered with live oaks and remnants of the abandoned limestone mine still present throughout. The surroundings are unlike any other golf courses in central Florida, which has made it popular amongst both locals and visitors. Besides the beautiful scenery, the terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that make each hole unique. The traditional layout features contoured, rolling fairways and four memorable holes that play along and through a century-old quarry. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging as you head towards the back nine, which was designed by Bobby Weed. It is a layout that demands precision and rewards skillful shotmaking. In addition to the unique setting and challenging design, Brooksville Country Club also boasts immaculately conditioned fairways and greens.

Wait for course conditions to improve

Course is not in the best shape. Fairways are inconsistent, some greens should be considered unplayable. Pace of play is too slow. They need a marshall out there keeping an eye on things, and encouraging more golfers to play 'ready golf" The 18th green is closed, and there was never any mention of this when we checked in. It's a good track, in general, and some fun holes, but there are many more things that could be done to elevate the experience playing this course.

Expensive Course, used to be nice, needs work!

Greens in rough shape. Looks like course hasn’t been watered much. 18th hole didn’t have a green, it was the length of the fairway. A lot of sandy and dirt spots on greens.

Decent Course, good layout

Enjoyed our round here yesterday. Didn't know it had just been aerated, so that was a little disappointing, but overall, we had a good time. Greens were a little slow. The quarry holes are definitely challenging, but not overwhelming. Will play again this summer.

Needs help!

Greens were punched and sanded (no warning from the clubhouse or app). Several greens had upwards of 1/2 the green completely bare. Fairways were burnt out in a lot of areas, and crab grass everywhere. Just off the fairways had lots of patches of sand and bare patches. Sand bunkers on most holes were overgrown with grass, and the sand is basically dirt.

Sad because the back 9 has the beautiful quarry holes, but it’s tough to play with the course in the condition it’s in. Played here 5/6 times over the past 3 years and it’s by far the worse I’ve seen it in.

Cherry on top, no bev cart! :(

GETTING WORSE

BACK IN FEBRUARY THE COURSE WAS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. NOW IT IS DRY AS A BONE. FAIRWAYS ARE HARD WITH LITTLE GRASS. APPEARS NO WATERING AND NO RAIN FOR A WHILE. THE WORSE PART WAS THE GREENS. THEY HAVE SOME KIND OF BLACK FUNGUS WITH LARGE BAD AREAS. SAD IT WAS JUST GETTING TO BE A BETTER COURSE OVER THE LAST YEAR.

Great course

Very fun and challenging terrain. The greens were covered in dirt which made putting challenging, but they are not normally like that. Otherwise, the course was very well maintained and everyone was very friendly.

Greens

With water restrictions in effect the greens are dry with dirt showing through. Making the punt more difficult.

Great course poor greens

Course is in decent shape but the greens are horrible not sure what happen. Half of each green was eaten away. I know it’s been dry but literally was moving the ball just to have grass to putt on. Pace of play was awesome people were nice and had a great time but definitely need to work on the greens bad

Great challenge!

Excellent course overall! Overgrown tree limbs and few patches on some greens rates this course a 4 star. Staff was very friendly and accommodating also reassuring the course is well aware of these course issues and is in process of improving. Must play if you like a challenge!

Golf Single

I had heard good things about Brooksville Country Club, so I booked a tee time. It’s an older course that you can see might have been very good back in the day but Father Time is undefeated and has claimed another victim. If the owners were to put some money into this track it could get back to being a very good course again. There are no cart paths after about 20-30 yards from the tee box, a lot of the greens were infected with some type of. Infection and most fairways were just okay. But for the price, it wasn’t bad for a round of golf. The old saying “you get what you paid for” applies here.
