Brooksville Country Club
About
Brooksville Country Club offers a uniquely scenic experience with a rolling landscape covered with live oaks and remnants of the abandoned limestone mine still present throughout. The surroundings are unlike any other golf courses in central Florida, which has made it popular amongst both locals and visitors. Besides the beautiful scenery, the terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that make each hole unique. The traditional layout features contoured, rolling fairways and four memorable holes that play along and through a century-old quarry. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging as you head towards the back nine, which was designed by Bobby Weed. It is a layout that demands precision and rewards skillful shotmaking. In addition to the unique setting and challenging design, Brooksville Country Club also boasts immaculately conditioned fairways and greens.

This quarry hoole will challenge your driver and mid irons. Photo submitted by Edsgolfin on 10/18/2012
wonderful layout but dry and sandy conditions
DO NOT recommend this course if you like to read your putts and go low! Love this course because it has arguably one of the best designs in the state. It's a shame the current conditions of the course dont line up with that. The brown and splotchy crabgrass practice green was a perfect indication of every other green on the course.
Still a great course to get out and play if you're looking to kill time but be prepared to spend $50 a person and not be able to putt.
Go elsewhere!
Was told by others in our golf league to try this course out. Since our home course punched the greens we decided to try this course. I hate playing on punched greens but would've rather played our home course then what we just experienced! As one of my friends said when he went in the club house at the turn “the worst course he played in 37 years!"
Rough course
Course is not being maintained very well. Greens have lots of bare spots and fairway grass is thin. I would only play this course again if it was priced around $20.
Terrible course management
Only put pace of play 5 stars because no one is playing here the fairway is hard as a rock and looks like a goat pasture the rough was like up to my knees in some parts and shin high in other spots terrible experience left after 6 holes
Needs work
Weeds growing in fairways and greens had bad spots in them. It was discouraging to drive an hour and play. It’s the first time I have seen it that bad. Pro shop blame it on bad winter. I guess they didn’t have a lot of rain. Course was on the dry side.
Good layout but ...
This is a fun layout for Florida as it has about four holes going through an old quarry with a lot of elevation changes.
Unfortunately, the fairways and greens were not in good shape.
Taylormade
Brand new carts. Greens are sand, bouncy and rough. Tee boxes are ok. Fairways have lots of crabgrass that is slowly getting treated. Very dry, hopefully summer rains will help. It’s still a good course for the price.
A tale of two courses
The front nine was horrible. The fairways were rough and greens were almost unplayable. The back nine was amazing. The fairways and greens were in pristine condition and each hole was uniquely challenging.
Lil rough but expected.
2 weeks post aeration it was to be expected to be a lil rough. All love I'll be back
Okay
Okay course with a fun layout. Nice having some elevation change in florida. Greens were in decent at best shape. Grass was long in a lot of areas. Lost a couple balls that should of been easy to find
Greens on Memorial Day weekend👎🏽
Being memorial day weekend. These greens should have been in better condition. Sand piles everywhere. I understand the reason behind it but a leaf blower would have solved the problem. I honestly can’t believe we weren’t told of situation or have it on app with aeration alert.
Love this course but….
Love this course but the conditions have gone way down hill no puns intended this place needs some serious TLC to get back to where it used to be, greens are terrible almost through out the whole course and the tee boxes and fairways are some of the worsts I’ve ever played as well as the poorly maintained sand traps
ALWAYS HAPPY TO PLAY BROOKSVILLE CC
Had a chance to take two of my golfing friends up to Brooksville Country Club on May 14th. Spring is over for us so it's getting hot & humid. Also, it's been an unusually dry winter/spring over central Florida so with such little rain the course was not as lush as usual.
None of that mattered once we hit the 12th hole and continued through various quarry holes. So different from most of the courses we play in central Florida. If you have not played Brooksville CC put it on your golf bucket list. You will not be disappointed!
Dry but decent condition
Greens recently aerated, so bumpy and sandy. Tees and fairways generally grassy with some patchy areas. Pace was excellent at 3.5 hrs. Quarry holes always a challenge. Staff are terrific.
Cmon
I know they have a new groundskeeper, but we need to get back to where we were with this place. Been playing there most of my adult life, fairways the worst I've seen, I know they working on the greens so I wasn't bothered by that. Carts are nicer, but we need better fairways. Quarry holes looked nice aside from 17 green
Needs help
Where do I start? Untrimmed trees, uncut grass, patchy greens. The course definitely needs some help. A friend and I went out today and the pace was horrible. The first few holes were fine time wise but once you got to hole 10, there were 4 groups waiting at the same time. We only ended up doing the front 9 due to how long it took to do them with the constant stopping and waiting (over 2.5 hours). The grass was uncut in a lot of the areas, the trees look like they havent been trimmed in years, and the course is like a scene from world war 2 with all the holes randomly scattered around. Maybe the back 9 would've changed my mind a little but like I stated earlier, we didn't play it. $40 for this course seems a little too much for it (and yes, I know $40 is cheap).
