Brooksville Country Club

I've played this course many times in the past and it has been in somewhat decent shape. This last time though the course was in terrible shape. It definately looks as though routine maintenance is being neglected. The fairways were not mowed and you could easily lose your ball in the fairway. The rough was ankle deep grass. Some of the greens were like putting off of gravel. The quarry holes were great though - thats about it. Until management starts to maintain the course a little better I would not recommend this course to anyone. At least mow the fairways and the experience could have been much better. Sad to say. The layout is good though.

We had a group golfer coupon to play this course. Parking and carts were Ok. The course is not maintained for play. 1st tee box was full of weeds and bare spots. We all hit decent drives then went looking for the ball. The fairways had not been mowed for at least 3-4 days. The rough maybe a week or more. The grass in both the fairways and in the rough is full of weeds. Then we would get the ball to the green and it was mostly brown. Each of the following 8 holes were the same, we stopped after 9 and left.

It is a shame because the layout was nice.

The greens were in terrible shape. The grass was really long. Staff was friendly but course conditions were not good.

Course was in extremely poor condition.

It is not recommended.

Greens were unputtable with dirt patches and dying grass, fairways and roughs unmanicured.

After holes 1-3 I was seriously considering packing it up and making the hour and fifteen minute commute back home.

I'm sure at one time this was a nice course, the potential is recognized and the three quarry holes are uniquely amazing.

Chocked it up as a practice outing.

I’ve lived in the area for quite some time and I’ve played this course multiple times. This might be the worst shape I’ve ever seen the course. The greens have huge sand. Baron spots on the greens. Fairways were terrible. I don’t know what happened to this golf course years ago. It was in very nice shape, but this was the worst I’ve ever seen it and in my opinion, not even worth playing.

Fairways and tees were terrible Grass so long that we lost balls in the fairways

I have played there a few times in the past and the condition was decent and the back 9 has some interesting hole layouts. But today, that course was the worst condition for a golf course that I have every seen!! I was losing balls that I hit into the fairway. The greens are overrun with weeds and crabgrass, the firways and rough are the same ankle high patches of grass. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE,,,TERRIBLE UPKEEP AND TERRIBLE PEOPLE WORKING THERE.

I have played this course for many many years and It's always been hit or miss. The course is built around an old quarry so it has some redeeming qualities but unfortunately the conditions overshadow those redeeming qualities. The pace of play was so bad we actually skipped three holes so we could at least play the quarry holes before giving up and quitting.

It is with great sadness and disappointment that I must report that this course is not longer worth the drive. The conditions of the course were abysmal. The rough just off of the fairway was knee high. There were patches of weeds a foot tall in the fairways. The tee boxes were mostly dirt with weeds and the greens were in terrible shape and in need of maintenance.

This course needs a new owner who has the financial wherewithal and desire to return this once beautiful course to it's former glory. Until then me and my foursome will be staying away.

If you are looking for nice fairways and manicured greens, this is not your place. This is a great place to practice for a good price. If you get bored with a driving range, this is a good option.

I have played this course a dozen times. This is the worst conditions I have seen here. Brooksville C.C. had: high rough: terrible greens with grass missing. Was a decent course, but has went downhill quickly.

Played this course a few times, but what happened?!

Everything from tee to greens was awful. Don’t know why the lack of managing the course conditions, but will not return until it is restored. Such great potential, so lack of maintenance. Please fix this ASAP!

This used to be a nice Ourse, but conditions made it impossible to play and score correctly. The tee boxes were mostly weeds, the fairways desperately needed cutting, how do you lose a ball in the center of the fairway??. The greens are a series of potholes, surrounded by some sand and dirt, with a scraping of grass here and there, that make putting futile. The Pro shop guy was fantastic in attitude and the beverage cart lady was wonderful, but I doubt that they alone can save this Course, it needs serious time and money invested to make it what it once was, and could be again, but I left after 9 holes, having paid for 18, but there were no regrets. It wasn't so much golf, more of a walk spoiled as one man famously said.

Challenging up and down hill holes, one across a quarry and a par three down over water on a small green. Exceptional course.

Many of the greens were in rough shape, and the fairways had quite a bit of crabgrass in them.

But overall it was a good experience

This course truly was one of the worst golf courses I’ve played on. Pace-of-play was fine because it was a Saturday summer day and no one wants to play in a “pasture”.

Unfortunately, it seems as though they’re stuck in the 1980’s and haven’t manicured the course since then. Distinguishing a fairway was impossible because there truly aren’t any, the cart paths are broken, non-existent, or some areas marked out-of-order. The clubhouse food was so bad (hot dog & burger); however, the only highlights were the service from the waitress and the “cart lady” - although her cart was in poor shape with a black garbage bag around her seat.

I do not recommend this course to anyone - save your money. I was golfing with my wife and with the fairways not being there, she was getting frustrated as it’s impossible to get any “roll”. There also wasn’t a green that was in good shape… it just seems like they don’t care and that’s unfortunate.

Until someone invests money into it, I don’t think this course will around very long. :/

I’ve never written a bad review on a course, but people need to be aware before they spend their money. Bummer.

What a shame this course is. This place use to be so nice and fun to play. I wonder if the owners of Oak Hills Golf Club and Brooksville are the same people. They are identical. Nothing but a cow pasture now. I will not be back even if they paid me. What a shame.
