Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Muddy and under construction
7 to 8 hour round on a weekday early afternoon. Pace was horrid. Waited 45 min at a single par 3. Mud and drainage were a major issue. Cart paths not complete or washed out. Course has potential but needs a lot of work.
Thank you for the 4-star review. Hopefully next time we can get it to a 5-star!
Looks like your experience at Meadowlark GC didn't live up to your expecations. Please feel free to reach out to me at dsipe@arcisgolf.com as I would love to hear about where we can improve.
Good Muni Course
I played this course for the first time. Recent rains impacted the course such that fairways were soggy resulting in cart path only. This slowed play resulting in a 4 hr and 50 mins round. The greens were in good shape and rolled fast. The staff was friendly and I was paired with some locals who were great to play with. The course just celebrated 100 years and you can see they are doing some work to make upgrades to cart paths. The cost to play was reasonable compared to other courses in SoCal. I did enjoy the round but would likely play other courses in SoCal which are better courses IMO.
Thanks for the 3-star review and kind words about our course. The cart path only restriction certanily slows down play and 4hr 50min is not a pace we hope to acheive during normal conditions. We hope you will come back our for another round once the storms pass.
Not easy to review
This is my first visit here. Over a month of the rainy season, the ground condition is out of normal state. So, it is hard to review at this time, where strange to California.
JihoonK, thank you for the review! Hopefully you are able to come play a round once the weather subsides and we get back to more normal conditions!
Fun course, slow pace, a little expensive
First off, let me say, I think the price at $53 is reasonable if the course is in slightly better condition and the pace of play is faster. It was a couple days after some heavy rain so condition is tough to judge but the pace was very slow. At the turn we were 3 hours into the round, which would have put us at a 6 hour round. We spoke to the Marshall though and he was very understanding. He allowed us to jump ahead of the group holding the pace back and offered to have us make up the two missed by jumping back out on 1 after our round. Overall the course is pretty good, the staff is friendly, I would come back and just hope for a better pace next time.
Richard,
Thank you for the 4-star review and mostly kind words about the course. We are constantly trying to get better and pace of play is an area we are really trying to focus on. Appreciate your feedback!
WET
Booked thru Golf Now, course was a swamp! Cart path only, huge lakes and marsh land EVERY fairway. Elected to walk instead of cart, good idea. Next time will call before booking to get course conditions before throwing down 100 bucks.
While I appreciate the 4-star rating you gave us, I also truly understand the frustration with the course conditions after the round winter we've been having. Hopefully next time you catch us with some drier conditions!
Wait for it to dry out
I appreciate that they were open when it’s been non stop raining but it was a mess. Standing water. & mud everywhere. Cart path only (I walk) means it’s painfully slow. Foursome in front of us made it even slower and no marshaling whatsoever. Over 5.5 hrs to finish. Some guy blaring rap music while hitting his ball off our fairway. It was a disaster of a round. They need to do more to discourage the kind of behavior that ruins play for other people.
Thank you for your candid review of our course. The weather this winter (over 13 inches of rain since November!) has certinaly put a damper on things at times. Cart path only and many walkers definitely slows the pace down quite a bit. Pace is a huge focal point for us this year and we are constantly working with our marshals to ensure they are properly keep the pace at appropriate levels.
Thank you for the 4-star review!
Thank you for the 4-star review!
No good
This place is trash . Don’t know how they charge 71.00 .
Sounds like we did not live up to your expectations on your most recent visit. Hopefully you give us another shot and we can provide a much better experience for you!
Except for the rain it was fun
Course is in good shape, greens are amazing. They are upgrading some cart paths. The only thing that sucked was cart path on because of the rain. I will go back
Thanks for the 4-star review and kind words! The cart path project is complete as of now and hopefully we will start to see some dryer weather! Looking forward to seeing you out on the links again soon!
5-stars!!! Wow,! Thank you Jacob!
Thank you for the 4-star review!
Thank you so much for the 5-star review!
So slow
Took 5 hours and 30 minutes to play a round of golf with a cart. We had to wait on every hole. Some holes up to 25 minutes.

cjirocman, I am sorry to hear about your experience here at Meadowlark. We pride ourselves on having pretty good pace of play so I truly apprecaite you bringing this issue you had to our attention. On a positive note, the cart path issues you ran into are a thing of the past as that construction work has been completed and we have new paths on many holes. Hopefully you will give us another chance once these storms subside and we can present a much better experience for you!
