Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Refund please
I was told by staff at Meadowlark that if I booked a foursome and only played a twosome I would be refunded by the course at check in. Upon arrival staff informed me that Golf now needs to issue the refund. Please tell me what that process is and how to get started. Paid for 4 played 2.
Golf Course and Staff
Steve and his staff are friendly and efficient, this helped fast check in. Players are respectful and observed good pace of play, no Marshall needed.
A little remark that usually after a rain, some parts of the fairways are soaked wet. When carts ran over the puddles, they destroyed the nice green. Recommend improving irrigation.
SLOW
Had not played this course in years. The conditions were ok. The greens were ok. Course layout didn't make much sense on a few holes (had to ask directions to the next tee). Several tee boxes in the line of fire from other holes, without fencing or nets to protect you. Played on Saturday, so expected slow play, but waiting for four groups to tee off on the 7th was ridiculous. Played the 15th in the dark, too finish our 5+ hour day.
You get what you pay for.
Overall, course condition reflects green fees which was bargain value. Greens were in decent shape. I noticed a lot of trash on the course like empty beer cans. Pace of play was extremely slow, but expected given low price which attracts players with low skill level and no golf etiquette. Couldn’t believe I was told to reserve time for the range.
This course is somewhat challenging.
I like this course because it is closed to my home and staffs are friendly.
Meadowlark Needs Help
Recently Meadowlark has gone downhill in not only course condition, but with the ridiculous COVID rules in place which do not conform to today's medical science. For example, having to reserve, online, 45 minutes max of time in advance at the range which never uses the grass. Online reservations where you must pay for a foursome in advance with weeks to get a refund if you have less than four. I play here at least once a week because I live only 2 miles away, however, I have been playing other courses lately. The off-course amenities include a disgusting restroom in the dirty clubhouse and the restroom on the 17th hole is even worse. I'm not sure if Arcis isn't funding this course or if management is the issue but I crave a better place to play locally,
Staff Friendliness
Steve and his staff Tom are very helpful, and super nice
Staff Friendliness
Very please with staff at Meadowlark. Courteous and helpful. Manager Steve did a good job.
Insane value
Great course, can bring out your driver on most holes and fun par 3s.
Staff Friendlyness
Appreciated friendliness and good service of Staff, Tom and Manager Steve
Pace of play, grounds dramatically improved
Not that it was ever that bad, but earlier in the season the pace was way too slow and the grounds were not in good shape. Now both of those issues have been addressed with great results
Nice course layout
Enjoyed playing this course. Elevation changes, water elements, and dog legs make this course both fun and challenging. They were in the process of placing sand on the greens which was unfortunate for playing but understandable from a maintenance standpoint. Wish we knew in advance. Other than that, a great experience
Staff
Steve is a great manager. He can handle all problems with a smile. He can accommodate players in all difficult situations. Tom is an experienced staff and friendly person. Other staff are also good. Course condition is good excep people don’t always fix ball marks on the green.
COVID made pace of play way better
AlwYs liked this course but it wa Dx always so slow. Now pace is perfect so I’m Hong regular ly
