About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

A dangerous golf course
First of all, the electric cart swayed. It could creat any accident. Course are surrounded by housing area and busy streets. A lot of tee boxs are next to each other or practice green. A lot of amateur players hit the balls to your fairways from different holes. Course design is chaos.
We are sorry about the cart you had that day, we would have been happy to replace it for you and notify our mechanic of the needed repairs. As far as the setup of the course, unfortunately there isn't much we can do about the location of the roads and homes. Our course was built in 1922 when the homes and streets did not exist and over time, these things were added around us. We hope you will join us again in the future!
Great casual course!
As beginners it was great! Everyone was friendly and pace of play was great. It’s a great course without a lot of tough spots. It was very busy (cost matters) but they managers it well! Will definitely go back.

Quickest Round Ever Here
I’ve played Meadowlark probably 2 dozen times and one of things that keeps me away (even though it’s less than 5 minutes from my home) is pace of play. There are a couple of holes (notably #7) that can get severely backed up. A 5 or 6 hour round is not unheard of. However, on this day we tee’d off at 8:50a, and we’re done at 12:30p. Not sure if it was a freak thing or the time we tee’d off but it was great. May have to start coming here more often 😁
So happy to hear the pace was better for you and up to your standards! We've been working hard to keep pace better and more consistent. While it's not always perfect, we have certainly made improvements here!

Tee box on 12
You guys still have made zero progress, failing to even report any plans, to improve the nightmare 12 tee box. Get it together

Tricky greens
Fun course to play as usual. This time we waited a month or so after greens were punched to see the difference and oh man did they run fast and tricky all day. Good luck to everyone on the 12th green haha.

Nice Muni Course with always cool beach weather
This is a nice muni course in the city of Huntington Beach. Weather is always good, local golfers with knowledge are very helpful and course is in good shape. Holes are tight, so be on the lookout for balls flying towards your direction and make sure it’s you’re ball you’re hitting. Pace can be long, but average 4.5-5 hours.

They MUST do something with the tee boxes. 12 has been a nightmare for as long as I’ve played this course. Get off the pot and do something!

Unfortunately the issues with this tee box stem from working to protect homeowners along this hole. We work hard everyday to make Meadowlark better and hope you start to see that we are not just sitting on the "pot".
Meadowlark Golf Club
My husband loves playing Meadowlark in Huntington Beach. It had some very interesting holes. Got a great deal on Tee Off and we golfed with a friend. The staff is always friendly and the pace of play can sometimes be slow, but not when we played. Hope to play there more often.

Water and Hills
This course is always fun to play. Fairways are forgiving with a few tee boxes that you have to avoid the water. Hills and ponds add the need to approach this course with a strategic mindset. Played right after the greens were punched, which isn't ideal but was still a great time.

Thank you for the rating and feedback! There are times when we temporarily close holes 1 & 2 due to an area by the second green which is used for wedding ceremonies. Golfers are still able to play all 18 holes, just starting on hole 3 and finishing on holes 1 & 2. We hope this doesn't stop you from playing Meadowlark again in the future as we would love to have you for another round!
