About

Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Oldie but goodie

Got a great price with a daily deal for two. SoCal heat wave was in place so opted to play this course several miles from ocean. Weather was perfect on course. Like most all older public courses in SoCal, the fairway grass can be thin, but the green bunkers and fringe around greens was pretty good. A very nice round with minimal delays.

Better than I expected

Played this course for the first time with my grandson and it was a pleasant experience. A little confusing at times but not as tight as I was expecting. We played the front nine with no wait at tee boxes however the back nine was a different story. Very, very slow back nine with waiting at every turn so we cut our round short. All in all good experience and we’ll be back.

Good challenge

Relatively flat municipal type course. Highest value is that it is close enough to ocean that air temperature and breeze makes playing very comfortable on hot days. Course is not long, and played from blue tees whereas often would play whites at other courses. Conditions are pretty good and turf on most of the playing surfaces. Biggest challenge are some challenging putting surfaces.
