About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Meadowlark
Meadowlark is a fun golf course. I wish they kept better care of it. The staff is great and the golf course and many are great!

Never Gets Old
Course has good variety of holes. Is in great condition & plays tougher than the slope rating.

Low Quality
Way too expensive for the conditions it’s in. I’ve played cheaper courses that had more to offer. Crappy tee boxes and crab grass for “rough”. Worst course I’ve ever played.
Sorry to hear we fell short of your expectations on your visit to Meadowlark GC. While we continue to try and improve our 100+ year old golf course everyday, we understand that not everything may be perfect. We truly appreciate your candid feedback.
Meadowlark Golf
The greens were in fantastic shape. The tees and fairways were very good. I have been more to a few expensive courses lately where the tee boxes are uneven and have dirt spots. These tee boxes were great. Only complaint is the sand traps, all of them, I know because I was in them! There is no sand, just hard pan underneath. The club bounces off of it. Just let grass grow in them. Would be better then no sand.

The bunkers are certainly an issue we are aware of and in fact, have a large order of bunker sand coming in this month which will be used in those bunkers your speaking of. Hopefully the next time your out, you notice a vast improvement in the sand traps!

1.2 Hole
Hole 1.2 blocked without prior notice.
Waiting because there aren't enough carts.
Thank you for the rating and feedback! There are times when we temporarily close holes 1 & 2 due to an area by the second green which is used for wedding ceremonies. Golfers are still able to play all 18 holes, just starting on hole 3 and finishing on holes 1 & 2. We hope this doesn't stop you from playing Meadowlark again in the future as we would love to have you for another round!

A dangerous golf course
First of all, the electric cart swayed. It could creat any accident. Course are surrounded by housing area and busy streets. A lot of tee boxs are next to each other or practice green. A lot of amateur players hit the balls to your fairways from different holes. Course design is chaos.
We are sorry about the cart you had that day, we would have been happy to replace it for you and notify our mechanic of the needed repairs. As far as the setup of the course, unfortunately there isn't much we can do about the location of the roads and homes. Our course was built in 1922 when the homes and streets did not exist and over time, these things were added around us. We hope you will join us again in the future!
Great casual course!
As beginners it was great! Everyone was friendly and pace of play was great. It’s a great course without a lot of tough spots. It was very busy (cost matters) but they managers it well! Will definitely go back.

Quickest Round Ever Here
I’ve played Meadowlark probably 2 dozen times and one of things that keeps me away (even though it’s less than 5 minutes from my home) is pace of play. There are a couple of holes (notably #7) that can get severely backed up. A 5 or 6 hour round is not unheard of. However, on this day we tee’d off at 8:50a, and we’re done at 12:30p. Not sure if it was a freak thing or the time we tee’d off but it was great. May have to start coming here more often 😁
So happy to hear the pace was better for you and up to your standards! We've been working hard to keep pace better and more consistent. While it's not always perfect, we have certainly made improvements here!
