Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Always a Good Time
Let me compliment the staff on their friendliness and willingness to accommodate. Original tee time was for two, but three showed up. The staff made it happen that all three of us could tee off together even though the course was busied out. We had a good game and a happy day. Thank you!
Too crowded
This course could use a marshal. Very slow play. Course condition not great.
So much fun!
I love this course! Some weekends it takes 5+ hours to play, but the weekend before Christmas we finished in just over 3 hours! I love the elevation on hole 9 and the turtle shell green on hole 10. I really appreciate the variety and layout. Also the food and bar is awesome.
always fun
Love this place. Fun, semi challenging. Rarely plays over 4.5 hours. It's by the beach, just go and enjoy.
Great facility
I don't think there is a better course for the money
Keep it straight
Not as easy as it looks
Ball placement is important
Keep it in the fairway, the trees are very big and mature.
Very enjoyable
Poor fairway
I found so many bare fairways without any white removable area mark
I am confused whether I could replace the ball or not
Fun couse, but slow playing
I love this course. It's short, but challenging. Need to hit accurate shots to stay out of the strategically placed water. Don't want to be in the trees either.
We played on a Friday...midday. The course was packed and played very slow. At least 2 groups on every tee box. Slightly over 5 hours start to finish. Also, call the pro shop and check the rates. Online pricing was no deal. With fees we actually paid a little more than the rack rate.
Family Friendly
I really enjoy the course. It requires golf shots not just mashing the ball. Family friendly and suitable for beginners. Played with son and his friend. Both shot 100(give or take) yet we were able to have a good time. I noticed other groups with young golfers and beginners. Greens are in good shape and always present a challenge. Fairly quick with slopes.
Meadowlark is a good challenge
This course challenges a golfer with greens that boggle the mind. Be prepared for a great day .. Make sure you get on the green because the grass rough is like fly paper
Good summer choice
It's near the beach so the temperature and breezy always makes this a great summer course. Nothing spectacular but a fun round.
Still a fun course and challenging greens
I live in HB,,, the fairways are in ok condition a couple of dirt patches though.. Greens in good condition .. Pace of play was a bit slow but it was Saturday .. Green fees were very reasonable ... Overall I played this course many times and would recommend it to my friends for a fun round plus u get that nice ocean breeze
Lost putter cover
Never returned to lost and found... isn't that protocol... or just a bunch of dirtbags... really embarrassing for me because I kept raving to my father in law about Meadowlark... he's was quite bummed..
Meadowlark
This course sucked I play 4 to 5 time a week
And rotate 6/7 public courses there is nothing
Good about this course
bees
one bee stung back my kneck and another one stung the lady that was in our group. there got bea swarm somewhere on the trees.
Never Again
This was not the first time playing this course, but it will be my last. I go to this course because of convenience and price. Never Again.
A couple of months ago I played here, my tee time was moved from 9am to 11am because of a tournament. No apologies, no nothing. (Which I canceled, money refunded, and went to a movie) The couple of times playing this course was met with a late tee time (20-30 minutes) and very slow play.
Never Again.
Wear a hard hat!
The course itself was nice, but it's very tight. Any wayward hit is in the next fairway. I have never heard "Fore" so often or felt the need to constantly be ducking. On any given hole you weren't sure if the someone on the fairway ahead of you was with the group ahead or was just trying to get the ball back own their own hole.
It was also very slow. There was a backup at every hole, sometimes 3 groups deep.
Course conditions going downhill
I used to enjoy this course. Fun little course but the course conditions were pretty bad my last round. The putting greens were decent but the fairways were horrible. Bare spots and rock hard in some spots. Bunker sand quality is one of the worst I've played in. The way the course conditions are now, it's not worth $15 for 18 holes. I hope they put some work into their course. Not a bad course when it was better maintained.
Short but interesting course
Need to improve sand in bunker & too slow pace, must have a marshals
Great day for golf
The course was in nice shape considering drought in California. Greens were well cared for by staff. Unfortunately some players dont care enough to fix their divots. Holes were laid out well. Lots of uphill approach shots and undulating greens. Sand traps were not in good shape but overall I would definitely recommend this course.
