Arroyo Golf Club
About
At Red Rock Country Club, Arnold Palmer has created an escape from desert golf with a lush green course that forces golfers to think over their shots. As you're thinking, a waterfall could be crashing in the background. There are actually two Palmer courses here, but only The Arroyo is open for public play.
It measures in at 6,883 yards from the back tees and uses dramatic bunkering to set off its holes. The par 4s are particularly inventive, especially the 432-yard 4th. The par-3 seventh gives you great views of The Strip in the distance. The greens consistently run 10-11 on the Stimpmeter and the fairways are designed to funnel shots that are not overly wild back into decent lies.
"The Arroyo Course is what it is -- a playable course with stunning scenery and a smattering of decent golf holes," former TravelGolf.com writer Shane Sharp said. "It won't provide as memorable a round as Sin City's big-name resort courses, but the price is relative. If you're looking for a course to include in your annual Vegas rotation, Arroyo would be a nice addition, considering its conditioning and scenery."

Fair
Im sure the course is a nice one when in season but there were rocks and weeds in the bunkers. Some were hard as rock and some were ok. I was alone behind a foursome for 6 holes and they wouldn't let me thru. No rangers around to tell. The range is about 600 yards away from the clubhouse. I would play it again and give it a chance.
Great course
Living in Vegas now for a year and have played many courses. Play 3 to 4 times a week, this track is awesome, challenging and offers many tee box options for all handicaps. Stunning visuals from the Gold tees. I'll be playing this course a lot more.
Not as bad as previously reviewed
I was skeptical about my round after reading about pace of play and staff interaction. We finished in under 4 hours and if anything held up a twosome behind us. Staff was somewhat cynical but being from Boston it hit my wheelhouse. 19th hole is a little small but the food was good and Gina was on the ball. Course layout takes you through several neighborhoods with some long drives between holes.
Great course for the right amount
The course has a friendly layout. If you can get it for a decent price then I would highly recommend it. We paid 78 for 2 players with cart. I don't think I'd pay more. The one disappointment was the range , hitting off mats and the range balls were terrible. The balls were very old and scuffed up so baldly they wouldn't fly properly. No water was on the course for drinking so bring some yourself.
Course marshals were non existent.
Played 18 in just short of 5-1/2 hours. Group ahead was too busy drinking and chasing errant balls. Would not play ready golf. Would not acknowledge our request to play through. Never had contact with a marshal to say anything. Just venting, but the course however was in great shape. Will be back.
Enjoyed the experience!
My wife and I enjoyed everything about Arroyo. The pro shop and other staff were friendly and helpful. The practice facility was very nice, spacious, range balls in new condition, complete with chipping area. The course layout was fun and easy to follow for a first-timer with few surprise hazards. The fairways were in great shape and while the greens had some invading species they were smooth and true. We played as a twosome so expected to wait, but still played in a little over 4 hours. We have to leave Las Vegas soon and I wish we had discovered this course earlier. We'd love to play it again.
Nice Golf Course out of Las Vegas
Very different holes, like a spanish golf course between villas. The restaurant is not very impressive, but the staff is excellent. There was a tournment in front of us and we had never to wait.
Had the course to ourselves
It was Mother's Day and we had the course to ourselves. The perfect way to spend Mother's Day! Course was in great condition but the tee boxes needed some work. The grass was tall on the tee boxes making it difficult to get good tee placement. My only tip for first timers is to ask for help finding the first tee. By the time we got there we weren't sure we were in Las Vegas any longer! Fun and challenging course. I'd highly recommend.
One of the best
Course was excellent. Exactly what we were seeking when booking our Las Vegas golfing vacation. Would highly recommend.
Bachelor party
Caught up 12 person bachelor party at 13......all teeing off at 13......they were appologetic.. but the only option was to skip holes 13 and 14 .
There was no course manager on the course to train the bachelors on speedier ways to pkay.
Otherwise the course is very enjoyable.
BAD BAD GREENS
Greens are a 2 out 10, have not recovered from aeration. Don't recommend until they come back, very bouncy and slow!!!
Enjoyable round
Very nice course. Pace of play was excellent. We finished our round in 3 1/2 hours. Greens are still pretty rough after being punched.
Great from tee to green.
The winds were whipping with gusts of 45 mph. We still enjoyed the challenge. Hopefully, will play again when not windy.
Leisure time
It was a pretty course. Pace of play was slow. Greens were nice. Fairways were good also. Had terrific playing partners. Pro shop is expensive just like the rest of the town.
Will want to play again
Of the three courses we played this week, this was by far the best. The layout was easy on the eyes and keeping the ball in the fairway was paramount. The views all around were beautiful. A true gem in the desert.
Nice views
This course has several times you drive what feels like longer than it takes to play the hole on either side. There is one nice par three with water that should only come into play on a BAD miss but overall the holes were bog standard and not memorable. It is a nice course I am glad I played but I am not sure I would drive out there again. Perhaps I have been spoiled b resort golf but these holes all felt the same to me.
Wow, what a course!
I read some reviews before booking my tee time. Was in Vegas for about 4 days/3 nights and wanted to get away for a day and play golf without breaking the bank. I am so happy I found this place. Everything about this place was perfect. It's about 20 miles outside the strip (which is perfect distance), took about 30 minutes to get there. Nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Vegas. Right at the base of Red Rock Canyon which we had hiked earlier in the morning. Weather was started to warm up by the time I tee'd off but was still really nice weather (mid- 80s). Course was absolutely gorgeous, so well maintained. Pace of Play was perfect. I played by myself, took my time / taking pictures & enjoying the scenery. Didn't see another group until I was on the 8th hole, I noticed they were way back on the 3rd hole and it was a 4-some of locals. Didn't wait on a shot all afternoon and wasn't hurried by anything either.
Staff was extremely friendly, the stare or marshall (before I tee'd off) gave me some tips about driving to the first tee (because it's about 1/2 a mile away from the clubhouse). In all reality it was easy enough to find, just follow the signs!
Course was short compared to what I'm used to playing. I started off on the Black Tees but moved back to the back tees after a few holes.
My biggest takeaway from the course was the greens. Absolutely fantastic, everything rolled so true. I honestly felt like I was going to make every putt, even though I only made a few!!
I would really recommend playing later in the afternoon. The early times times for this course were around $100-$120, so playing at 2 PM (having the course to myself) and paying $48 was a steal.
I will absolutely be back to the course and would recommend it to anyone!!
