Golfer Reviews
Good price and challenging
Can't afford this course most of the time,so is nice that golfnow includes it for the lower price. Only ones on the course so good chance to try different clubs for that particular course. Fun afternoon
This course has some great features!
We were quite impressed with the overall setup of the Canyons course at Oasis. The variety of holes and elevation changes were quite interesting and it was a thinking golfers course! The only downside was with a few blind shots off the tee (1st hole in particular!) and not having played the course before was tough. This was one of the few courses which didn't offer up a free yardage booklet for the round....would've made things a little more enjoyable for sure. Overall this was a great and fun track to play!
Very playable. Fun course with nice par 3's
The course was very playable. The layout was decent and had some nice visual appeal. There were sand in the bunkers so that was great. The greens could have been a little faster but the putts rolled out and they rolled true.
Great condition!
The course gives you so many different shot opportunities. Fantastic conditions and well designed. This course has several holes that are so unique, you never get bored.
What a great course
The canyons is just a great golf course. We played the tips and it was very challenging but fair. Great views, tough placement shots around the greens but not crazy target golf. I like it as much as the oasis course which is next to the canyons.
Challenging, Fun and Slow
Played the Palmer Course from the white tees. Each hole was different, challenging and interesting. Put off and found it difficult to keep in rhythm due to 5 to 15 minute waits to tee off. Round took nearly 5 1/2 hours. Would like to play the course again when play is moving properly. Can't believe that this was a normal day. Beautiful fairways and greens. Many scenic holes, teeing from elevation.
Hard, hard, hard
Very slow play. Large groups of "boys" that act like it's their private course and could care less about anyone behind them. The staff enables this type of behaviour and does nothing to move them along.
Greens were hard and fairways were nearly grassless.
Great course, super friendly staff, views were stunning from most tee boxes.
What really struck me was the friendly staff from the time you pulled into the parking lot to the time you left every person at the course was kind and genuinely seemed to appreciate our business. The course layout was impressive taking full advantage of surrounding areas, creating unique golf shots and breathtaking views of both course and landscape. The only thing I felt was lacking was a more clear and precise yardage marking system for golfers such as myself and friends not so familiar with the course. The play on the front 9 went smooth and quick, back 9 was backed up by about 15 minutes on hole 10 which created a very long 18 holes .We loved the experience. Thanks.
Wonderful course.
This course is one you don't want to miss if you're in Mesquite, Nevada. It's reasonably priced but still has many of the features of the course at Wolf Creek which is very pricey. Tee boxes are often elevated with fairways far below with wonderful views. It's in very good condition.
Not in bad shape for this early in the season
I would go there again if I could find a great deal like I got on this website.
Picture post card holes
This course is awesome. Rolls through the picture perfect view of mesquite canyons. Red rock, great fairways, blue sky's , you can't bet the price from Golf Now. We paid half the normal green fee.
short course
Great short course for newer golfers. Need to address pace of play. 5+ hour round
The Palmer is a fun layout.
The course was in pretty good condition for early Feb. I had a 12:30 tee time, and we got off at 12:30. Unfortunately, that was the last time that we were on time for the round. The 2nd hole is a fairly simple par 3, however, there was a 3 group back-up on the tee box. From that point on it was slow and slowerer... Fun golf course, nice layout and very attractive canyon scenery. Too bad the pace of play was not better monitor...like at all.
Enjoyable winter conditions, crafty course...
I enjoyed this course and imagine it plays very well in the spring when everything is verdant and peaking. The Palmer course was shorter than I had imagined with lots of short par 4s (310-360 yrds.). This apparent ease is mitigated by the fact that there are numerous fairway bunkers, tightening fairways, elevated greens and a few water features strategically placed. If I went back I would likely play the canyon course. If you pay more than $50-$60 you may feel like you're overpaying given the winter conditions.
rating of palmer course in mesquite nv
the course has great features on some holes. Greens in good shape.
Wouldn't go again
Golfed 1st 9, went to 2nd 9, 2nd 9 crowded with people who were NOT ahead of us. Was not even close to the same golfing experience as the Palmer.
The course was in good shape for this time of year. The greens were in excellent shape.
Always enjoy playing at the Oasis golf courses because they are always in good condition and the staff is professional.
Great Value thru GolfNow.
Played on a beautiful January Day in Mesquite, this led to the course being crowded and the pace a little slow. Course is in great condition, staff friendly, service excellant. As a senior golfer I appreciated that there are not so many hills to climb on bad hits as some of the other courses here. Hit a tee shot that landed in a different state and time zone, easy to do here.
