About
Located about an hour from both the Monterey Peninsula and the San Francisco Bay area is Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gilroy, a city known as the "Garlic Capital of the World" and just east of Santa Cruz. Eagle Ridge's 18 holes of modern-designed championship golf are set amongst the oak forest foothills since it opened in 2000. The golf course features six sets of tee boxes, 92 bunkers, three lakes, seven creeks and also features many multi-tiered greens so it can play as challenging as golfers of any skill level would like. Eagle Ridge Golf Club also features full practice, restaurant and clubhouse facilities.

Good conditions
I might have given the course more 5 stars if not for the greens having craters all over them. The divots were everywhere and had to be fixed on every hole before putting. I must have fixed 5-10 on every green. We also got backed up quite a bit at about hole number 7 and it was slow going from there. Overall it was fun and I will definitely play there again.

Course Improvements
Played here 4 years ago and they definitely let the course go. Weeds, rocks and water in bunkers. Lots of dry patches in fairway. Played today and the bunkers have been completely repaired. A few have been removed. Still has some dry patches in the fairway and the tee boxes are a bit rough around the edges. Talked with the staff and they said the fairways are next to be repaired and the tee boxes after. It's glad to hear the improvements are on the way. This is a great track and only becoming a better one once everything is fully repaired. Definitely returning again in the future.

Rough and tough
Great course and challenging course. A few of the tee boxes were in rough condition and a few fairways were in tough shape, but overall eagle is a great course with some great views. Definitely would get out and check it out if you have yet to play.

Not worth $86…
I play Eagle Ridge a lot every year. The greens and traps were really good this time. The tee boxes and fairways were terrible. I know they are preparing for aeration on the fairways and we are in a drought, but it shouldn’t be that bad when other courses are in good shape. They can’t seem to get the entire course in good condition at the same time. Not worth the $86. The way the course is it should be less than $50. The staff are friendly and super nice, but come on with the conditions. Eagle is such a great facility surrounded by multi-million dollar houses, but the course needs to be better.

Ask before you play
The course was good until holes 16 and 17. The tee boxes on 16 are nonexistent. on hole 17 half of the hole is fenced off due to dead fairway.

Good enough for discounted price
Sand traps good. Fairways bad in multiple areas. I would not pay rack rate.

Great course
Golfnow messed up our start time. We got 6.20AM T time but 1st T time allowed is 6.50. Guy in charge asked some members to let us out 1st and they agreed. Very accommodating

I understand we have water issues in California but this is a golf course after all! I mean first of all it’s nonpotable water they use anyway so at least get the fairways in shape. (Brown spots everywhere!) I never got called for my tee time out and the person at the desk didn’t really seem to care to talk much! I had to walk up to a 3some and ask them if they were there 10:40 group. If a few little things can be done maintenance wise this course would be great to play and challenging for all levels. Unfortunately one person in our group considered to be worthy of playing the tips DO NOT if your handicap is 10 or above! He was not! makes for a long day :(
