About
Located about an hour from both the Monterey Peninsula and the San Francisco Bay area is Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gilroy, a city known as the "Garlic Capital of the World" and just east of Santa Cruz. Eagle Ridge's 18 holes of modern-designed championship golf are set amongst the oak forest foothills since it opened in 2000. The golf course features six sets of tee boxes, 92 bunkers, three lakes, seven creeks and also features many multi-tiered greens so it can play as challenging as golfers of any skill level would like. Eagle Ridge Golf Club also features full practice, restaurant and clubhouse facilities.

They are trying!
Course is getting a makeover right now. First few holes are being worked on so a couple temp greens are being used. Plan is to continue a couple holes at a time for the next few months. Still worth a Golf Now deal.

They have 1hole closed & 2 others modified . One of the strangest things was the pro shop wanted to charge for a cart . That was inappropriate & he put us on a cart together . Reluctant to go back there. I’ve played there often enough to have. More respect than was given

In the days of a pandemic, the course has no business charging extra for single rider cart use.

To many Temp Greens
The golf course should have notified the players in advance or when booking that there would be a few temp greens (shorten) and hole number 2 was completely closed. I would have cancelled my reservation .

Gilroy Golf
Was lucky enough to get out on a Thurs afternoon and virtually had course to ourselves. .some grounds work/renovations happening on the front 9 but easy enough to make it work.

great course and never boring..
this course will challenge you with all your clubs in your bag. Every hole is almost different lay out, you have to manage each shot with proper selection of the right club to use. overall great course and not too busy on week days. highly recommend this course for low handicapper. this will really gage where your true handicap score..have fun

First time playing Eagle Ridge
Overall good golf course with nice layout. Condition is rough and bunkers are not playable with weeds

Honest Opinion
Sand traps are in bad shape. Under Covid 19 all courses offer a cart per player. We were offered two for 4 and we had to purchase extra carts .greens were also uneven with dirt patches affecting putts.

Until ownership decides to invest in improving course conditions your best bet is to stay away
I had heard that the course was falling apart, bunkers were overgrown but wow was I wrong. Nearly every bunker was full of weeds, dirt and whatever else in them. Greens had patches and what looks like tractor marks all over as well. A majority of tee boxes were more like sand boxes, making it hard to find some grass to set a tee in. Over the years this course was always overpriced with extremely fast greens that wouldn't hold. Now it's moderately priced and the greens were surprisingly soft Check in staff couldn't care less about your tee time, and as I checked in for the two playing partners only then was I notified of a $10 upcharge for a second cart. Nowhere was this documented upon booking.

Our maintenance crew is constantly working to improve the conditions every day. We hope you'll bear with us through this transition and give us another try in the near future. Additional charges
We paid for a tee time through Gold now which including the cart , but course can only provide 2 carts for 4 players ?? We ended up have to pay for a 2 additional Carts.
