About
Located about an hour from both the Monterey Peninsula and the San Francisco Bay area is Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gilroy, a city known as the "Garlic Capital of the World" and just east of Santa Cruz. Eagle Ridge's 18 holes of modern-designed championship golf are set amongst the oak forest foothills since it opened in 2000. The golf course features six sets of tee boxes, 92 bunkers, three lakes, seven creeks and also features many multi-tiered greens so it can play as challenging as golfers of any skill level would like. Eagle Ridge Golf Club also features full practice, restaurant and clubhouse facilities.

Good value for course condition
bunkers still play as ground under repair. some parts of some holes are rough i.e. fairways have dry or bare spots Greens were excellent. Layout of course is challenging for average golfer but good for intermediate or advance player

Nice Layout, poor Fairways & Bunkers
All bunkers abandoned/un- maintained which ruins the look and playability of a fun, well designed layout. Fairways are spotty, with lush areas and semi-bare areas that looks like water not applied correctly - or system not properly maintained.
Greens/fringes were excellent, speedy, and true....good tee boxes....but in between, it was a mess.
I'll play again at the Golf Now special rate, but I'd be really upset if I was a member. No excuse to let the course run down like this, pandemic or not.

Great course, but bunkers are full of weeds and unplayable.
I have played Eagle Ridge at least 200 times and sad to say the conditions seem to be getting worse every time I visit this once fabulous golf course. The course is NOT getting enough water, the fairways have huge spots where the grass is brown, damaged, worn to the ground and of course not a bunker is in play with the weeds growing in almost every one of them. Those that do not have weeds have NOT been raked by patrons or by the maintenance staff for a couple of months. Kind of pitiful, I hope the course can survive as they do NOT get enough play with the existing conditions. At least the greens are in great shape, that is important for a golf course to survive.

Not what it used to be...
I’ve played Eagle ridge 40+ times. I grew up and used to live in Gilroy but haven’t played here in at least 3 or 4 years. I’ve never been a big fan of the layout with all the huge bunkers, tons of OB everywhere, #9 is ridiculous, the greens were okay. With that being said, pace of play was great, my brother and I as a twosome went off on a Wednesday at 10:45 and played in 4 hours. This place has seen better days, a lot of management changes probably haven’t helped. Bunkers were GUR and should just be filled up and reseeded. $54 wasn’t bad. This course could use some horticulture.

Great course, but bunkers out of play
This is by far one of the toughest courses in the Bay Area, and it is a great challenge. The greens have many levels, making putting very difficult. I would rate it much higher but the sand traps are essentially out of play, weeds growing in them, sometimes a couple of feet high as they cannot afford the $350,000 to get them redone. Its a real shame as this once was the best course in the area, now its NOT.
