Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
About
Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, Indian Canyons Golf Resort offers two championship courses with stunning views. The two golf courses, North and South, have completely different layouts but they are both sheltered from the wind thanks to the surrounding mountains. The South Course is the shorter of the two, making it the more player-friendly course. That is not to say it is not a challenge though. The rolling fairways are framed by contoured mounding and four expansive lakes come into play on six holes. The par 5s are particularly memorable. There are also well over 1,300 palm trees throughout the golf course, which includes hundreds of Washingtonia filifera palms. These trees are native to the Agua Caliente Tribe and an important part of their history.

17th green, short par 4, layup short of the water before hitting over to a guarded green. Just an iron and a wedge, but what a beauty! Photo submitted by t781893493 on 05/01/2019

Fantastic round
Having played quite a few courses in and around Palm Springs, I have to say this is now my favorite. Conditions were epic, staff incredibly friendly and although the course was packed, I didn’t have much of an impact on pace of play....it was a great day
Women Friendly
With a couple of different sets of tees that are very playable for women golfers of different skill levels this is a women friendly course. The playing conditions & beauty of course add to the overall enjoyment of a round.
Fun course
First time at Desert Falls. Looking forward to going back soon. Beautiful course. Nice practice area, friendly staff, great ground conditions. Cart equipped with good range finder that is very helpful. Beautiful weather and great location made it a very fun place to spend the day with friends.
Beautiful Palm Springs
Probably the most pristine course I have ever played. Well manicured tee boxes, greens and fairways. Very golfer friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our round and would definitely consider coming back.
9/10, excellent pace of play
After seeing the previous reviews regarding the Staff behavior, I was a little concerned. Right away we were greeted and everyone inside pro-shop was extremely friendly for 6:30am in the morning. The starter joined us on the range 20min before tee time and said the box is ours whenever we’d like. I’m a huge fan of this mindset when playing resort courses. Maybe some people would feel rushed? To me, I enjoy a starter that acts like a jockey. Slow play ruins the experience and these guys/gals know how to run a tight ship. We hit a few balls, and were off 10min before tee time. I wish range balls were included in price as a service and the greens on Par 3’s have seen better days. Pitch marks everywhere. Besides that, this course is excellent. Amazing condition and challenging Palm tree locations (Par 5 on front 9 has 3 palms directly in front of the green). I recommend playing in the AM, no direct sun until 5th hole. It’s a smaller track and you feel it at times, but the water on the back helps with the challenge. Overall, very solid for $110-$130 range.
Solid Round
Solid course, solid layout, great pace of play. Didn’t have a great experience with the staff. Not sure if it’s because it was so early in the AM, but my interaction with the club house staff wasn’t great. Not bad, just wasn’t very welcoming and friendly.
Awesome Course less awesome staff
Im going to start with this was my FIRST experience here. I showed up 6:30am for a 7am tee time to the South Course, waited at bag drop for 10 or so minutes and there was no staff around. I walked around to the ProShop and was told IMMEDIATELY by Perky, who isn't the most friendly person to be that first impression, that I needed to get my temp read. (Which I totally get.) But again who is supposed to read my temp? So I walked back to the bag drop where I found a staff member and told them I was arriving for my 7am tee time. Was INSTANTLY told that I didn’t have a tee time and to goto the North Course. At this point its 6:45. I packed my bag up drove to the North Course to be told “No your tee time is for the South.” The two Gentlemen behind the counter were super apologetic. I then had to reload up my bag for a second time. Rush over to the South, find the bag staff, tell them I do infact have a tee time with them. They find it, tell me that I have to goto the starters booth. No ones in the starters booth. Return to the ray of sunshine Perky, she points me to a guy and says thats the starter. I stop him before walking into the cart barn to ask about how they announce the tee times, he responds “Ill be at the starters booth to start you, but DO NOT start with out me.” I have tattoos and im not sure if this had anything to do with the attitudes of Perky and the starter, but I grew up on a golf course, hold a single digit handicap, am a member of a private club and they felt very unwelcoming. Its 7:13 at this point, I get “permission” to play, had a great time played alone. But course was great and greens rolled awesome.
Everyone’s Favorite
Wide lush fairways
Large greens that can hold a shot
Unbeatable sceneries
Pick your T box to make it as challenging as you wish.

Nice round of Golf
Course was in good shape. Enjoyed my round for the most part. Marshalls and starter were a little rough around the edges.
Agree the two IC courses pro shops may be challenged on which course you are playing @ times Justin. But I had a 100% completely opposite experience with the starter (probably different person?). Last time I played there, had a really nice 20 minute conversation with the IC South starter. Touched on the course, but mainly about his choice of college FB teams to support. IMO bad, you could see that ugly orange and purple from 100 yards away that he prominently displayed. Since the course was not busy during the off season, came back to talk with him again after a quick 18. Talked to his replacement, who let me play another 9. So radically depends on the day and who the starter is @ this and probably many more courses out there.
