Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
About
Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, Indian Canyons Golf Resort offers two championship courses with stunning views. The two golf courses, North and South, have completely different layouts but they are both sheltered from the wind thanks to the surrounding mountains. The South Course is the shorter of the two, making it the more player-friendly course. That is not to say it is not a challenge though. The rolling fairways are framed by contoured mounding and four expansive lakes come into play on six holes. The par 5s are particularly memorable. There are also well over 1,300 palm trees throughout the golf course, which includes hundreds of Washingtonia filifera palms. These trees are native to the Agua Caliente Tribe and an important part of their history.

17th green, short par 4, layup short of the water before hitting over to a guarded green. Just an iron and a wedge, but what a beauty! Photo submitted by t781893493 on 05/01/2019

No 1 in my books
So much fun to play. I have nothing bad to say about the course. Tee to green excellent condition. Must play.
Will be back.
Great course
Great conditions throughout. Greens much better than many other courses. Beautiful scenery all around you.
Awesome Shape
Great day. Course is in fantastic shape. Greens might be a tad slow for me although still 5 star.
Great Course, Great Service!
I have played this course numerous times since it was remodeled some years ago. The course was in outstanding shape and the bunkers are all filled with powdery sand again.
The staff could not have been nicer, from the outside service folks, golf shop staff and especially the starter.
Played in 4 hours on a post holiday Sunday. This course should be on everyone's must play list for the value
Indian canyon golf
Indian canyon south course is in great shape. Pace of play was decent until the 13th hole, 4 groups waiting, called the pro shop, sent out a Marshall right away, he got things moving well, finished in just over 4 hrs. I so appreciate there prompt response, insuring a enough daylight for a late afternoon finish. Great course.
A little over priced.
Slow greens. Pace of play was 3:40. Have to like that.
Beautiful Course
First time playing this course and would definitely play it again. Beautiful setting with the mountain back drops and scenery. The course has a nice layout and some great challenges. A highlight at the time was a group of horseback riders going past the course against the base of the mountains, waving and saying hello... fun exchange and not what you usually see on a golf course.
Superb experience
This is our favorite course in Palm Springs area. It is close to our resort, is easy to get to, and is always in fantastic condition. We play it a couple times in early May each year and are never disappointed. Conditions are great and value is excellent
This course should not have been open to the public yet. The greens were ridiculous. Had a 35-foot putt downhill came up 10 ft short you just can't pick a line with that slow of a pace. Have never putted on a green that slow in my life. Buyer beware. It is a really nice course but unfortunate they had to open it in that condition
Indian Canyon Soutrh
One of my favorite courses in the valley, perfect day
We come to PS every year to golf and this is one of our favourites . The beauty of the course and it’s always been in fantastic shape . Played a hot deal at 68 which is prob not a great rate for locals but pretty good for visitors . This year the course was prob in the best shape yet . The greens were slow very slow the day we played .Definitely play again when we come back
Let me start by saying my review may be a bit harsh, I'm a low handicapper and the average golfer may not feel the same. The course was reopened a couple of weeks ago apparently, but my goodness they need to leave it closed if it's going to be like this. The greens were like putting in fairways, and the fairways were all flyer lies because the grass was so thick and long. Apparently it's "normal", and will be better soon, but then offer serious discounts. The landscape was beautiful, I certainly let see why people like the layout from that perspective. I don't think I've ever seen a full length golf course compressed into such a small space. Design was very "resort" like. Again to be fair, I had played two days at Escena before this which is amazing. If you're a low handicapper, play escena for a challenge and fair scoring course.
Awsome
Beautiful course in outstanding condition. Greens were slow but rained hard day before and wet conditions
Beautiful Course, Beautiful Scenery
A very pleasant surprise. The course is in great condition, staff vey helpful. Only 1 drawback - the slowest greens ever! Some water to make life interesting.
Would highly recommend this course for a great, interesting round of golf
Absolute Gem, Great Price!
We wanted to try a course that was outside of the normal suggested courses like Indian Wells and the La Quinta courses. Indian Canyons was 10 mins away from where we were staying in Palm springs and was a good deal on Golfnow. What a beautiful lush course with generous fairways and easy tee shots that allow for driver on every par 4/5. It was still cart path only as they were still coming out of overseeding but there are a ton of yardage markers that make it easy to gauge distances. The greens were the slowest greens I’ve ever played as they are letting them grow out but you’ll adjust after a few holes. We played the south course but members said the North course was just as nice or nicer. We played from the tips as it was a shorter course at 6500 yards from the tips. We’ll be back.
