Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
About
Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, Indian Canyons Golf Resort offers two championship courses with stunning views. The two golf courses, North and South, have completely different layouts but they are both sheltered from the wind thanks to the surrounding mountains. The South Course is the shorter of the two, making it the more player-friendly course. That is not to say it is not a challenge though. The rolling fairways are framed by contoured mounding and four expansive lakes come into play on six holes. The par 5s are particularly memorable. There are also well over 1,300 palm trees throughout the golf course, which includes hundreds of Washingtonia filifera palms. These trees are native to the Agua Caliente Tribe and an important part of their history.

Good Value
I played this course in December and for being in the winter this course was in good shape. Fairways were green and lush and overall condition was surprisingly good. My only (minor) complaint were the greens. The staff did a nice job with them, they were not too fast not too slow and they held approach shots nicely. However, keep in mind this is a public course and there were obvious ball marks on almost every green from fellow golfers. I would fix my ball mark and three or four others on every hole.
The course was a fun resort course to play, some fairways were house lined and it was fairly wide open. Staff was friendly and heplful. Great views of mountains and lots of palm trees to make you feel you are on vacation.
I paid $100 ish for two range tokens and an noontime start on a Monday. Close to downtown area of Palm Springs so not a lot of travel time from the hotel,
A beautiful day
We enjoy Indian Canyons South very much. It is on our list of courses to take our visitors from out of town. It is well groomed with a very fair layout. Our only issue in the past round was that the tee sheet was totally booked, course was full, and there was a twosome behind our foursome. They hit into us a couple of times and we had to confront them. Groups can only go as fast at the people ahead! Otherwise, it was a lovely day and we will continue to play there when we can.
Such a good feeling
This course is unique in the area
Next to the canyons and mountains it is a must play not for the golf iitself but for the local atmosphere and the surroundings
Worth to play and for any player
This course will bring more people to the game
Great Golf Course
Friendly staff, exceptional course maintenance, easy access, great course for driving!
Overall, a fantastic experience!
Great course
We played the south course, it is hard to lose a ball except in water and a few quite short par 3s but overall excellent place for mid handicap golfer with several holes that really make you think.
We liked the 16th in particular and the 18th is a tough finish but a birdie opportunity too.
The views of the mountains is impressive with horse riders passing by and lots of birds and ducks to make it feel natural.
The greens and bunkers were great and overall st $59 a player it was great value.
Beautiful Day
Great course and a beautiful day to golf. My first time out was excellent and the staff were all very friendly. I’ll definitely be back again!
Excellent course
One of best courses in Pam Springs area for the price. Only minor complaint is that greens were on the slow side. Otherwise condition of course was 5 stars.
Better each year
New sand in formerly brick hard bunkers, smooth true greens and very good condition after reseeding. The shape of this course has been improving for some time now.
One of our favorites
As always pleased with the conditions and pace of play, thourthly enjoyed the day...
Lovely course
Lovely course in very good shape. Not difficult business well placed bunkers can catch long errant shots. A few blind shots into greens. Most enjoyable
A Palm Springs Favouite
ICS is truly a gem of a golf course. Easily one of the very best in Palm Springs and perhaps in all of the Coachella Valley
The scenery is beyond amazing and the total golf experience is beyond reproach.
Our go to course
We come to the desert annually for a couple weeks to play golf. Indian Canyon South is one of our "go to" courses. We love the layout, condition, and the surroundings. The staff is always friendly and helpful. And besides that, we had breakfast beforehand in the grill and it was delicious!
Excellent course and conditions
Would highly recommend the course. Friendly staff, no delays with carts or tee times. Beautiful scenery. Great place to be golfing.
Nice Track, a little overpriced
I’ve played this course a half dozen times and enjoyed it every time. The conditions are always good and the layout is interesting. The $125 rate is a little steep so I only play if I can find a rate around $75. Don’t mistake the. Orthodox and South as the Aouth is far superior.
What a beautiful course
Very beautiful setting and well kept. Fun for everyone as it is not to tough a course.
Beautiful course
Well maintained course. Can be challenging with a number of bunkers strategically placed around most of the greens and fairways. Last day of cart path only so had extra walking to do with the hope you had brought the right club. Recommend it to all levels of golfer.
Always a good experience
As usual, Indian Canyons South did not disappoint. The only downside was that some of the greens were not in great shape (still heeling from reseeding, we thought). We all agreed that when course is cart-path only due to reseeding and greens aren't 100% it would be good practice to consider reducing the standard green fee.
