Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, Indian Canyons Golf Resort offers two championship courses with stunning views. The two golf courses, North and South, have completely different layouts but they are both sheltered from the wind thanks to the surrounding mountains. The South Course is the shorter of the two, making it the more player-friendly course. That is not to say it is not a challenge though. The rolling fairways are framed by contoured mounding and four expansive lakes come into play on six holes. The par 5s are particularly memorable. There are also well over 1,300 palm trees throughout the golf course, which includes hundreds of Washingtonia filifera palms. These trees are native to the Agua Caliente Tribe and an important part of their history.

Beautiful natural setting

One of the nicest courses in the area. Well maintained, all green, with very fair, forgiving layout. Lots of water and thick palms. Nestled up against the hills… not jammed into a housing complex. A truly relaxing round of golf with just enough challenge to make it interesting. Superb value.

Nice course

I golfed as 3 some with 2 fellows from Oregon. Had a really enjoyable day with them. The course was in good shape IE greens/fairways and traps. The starter indicated this was the top rated public course (per Golf Digest) in the area. I guess they needed to justify a higher green fee in place. For $144USD I think a few complimentary range balls would not bankrupt them. I did golf what I thought was a better conditioned course for much less a few days earlier but this track was totally fine. I would likely play again but keep an eye out for a better rate if possible.

We played on a Sunday at 11:00. It was really slow, we waited every shot. Almost a 5 hour round.

4 3/4 hour round is not fun

My wife and I had played the course before the pandemic and were looking forward to returning. Last time we played in 4:10 and since then told many friends about the course and the comfortable pace of play. Unfortunately I can't do that now. Yesterday we had a 10:50 tee time - we went off around 11 and played in 4 hours and forty five minutes.

Very disappointing to say the least. Still a lovely course and friendly staff.

Indian Canyons South Course

Beautiful golf course and friendly attentive staff. Took awhile to find a parking space. Pace was slow on a Sunday afternoon : over 5 hours. We got squeezed on back nine as group ahead was very slow on par 3 tee box to our left and we were still parked beside last green and golfer in group behind hit our cart with his approach shot. Luckily he missed the back of my head and it flew over my right shoulder and ball ricocheted into my knee. Ouch! Only disappointment was the speed of the greens - very slow compared to the 8 other courses we’ve played this winter.

Over Priced

I have played Indian Canyon many times and it is a nice course. It's very playable , fairways in good shape and the greens were rolling nicely. The problem is that when you pay $144 US to play a course, you expect a 5 star experience( Classic Club provides that). But, to not have the driving range open before your round, and one cart girl to provide beverages for both courses(400 golfers for 1 cart girl) , its ridiculous. Everyone I was with said never again. Indian Canyon, if you are going to charge what you are for tee times, the serve and the amenities need to reflect that. This is an $80 golf course.

Excellent conditions

Played 12 rounds over several weeks on trip to desert and this course had best condition of all the courses I played. Very well watered and lush for a desert course. Greens were actually soft and would hold your approach shots. Starter was a warm and friendly guy as well was person who checked me in golf shop. Definite must play for my trip next year!

Beautiful setting but poor condition

I’ve played this course in the past several years and I must say that this year they have disappointed. From a disorganized starter to slow playing conditions and golf course is in the poorest condition of any of the courses that I’ve played in the Palm Springs area.

The setting is beautiful but they need to improve the standard of course conditions and customer service levels
