Honey Bee Golf Club
About
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Honey Bee Golf Club is one of the area's most popular daily-fee golfing venues. Rees Jones designed the course, incorporating water on 10 holes as well as intricate bunkering throughout. The challenging layout has several tricky doglegs and some treacherous blind shots as well. It's a golf course that demands careful course management and some strategic thinking. Accurate shot placement is also key when maneuvering the rolling fairways and contoured greens. While it's by no means an easy golf course, it is an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels, making it a popular venue for tournaments and corporate outings. For golfers looking to get an entire day of golf in, Honey Bee's sister club, Stumpy Lake, is only about half a mile away.

more difficult then I expected
reading other reviews some said it was challenging - some said it wasn't - but for an older person it can be very challenging. the layout at some points were hard to understand - being a first time playing there some holes were hard to find.
Rate is not worthy for the course
Green condition is terrible here.
Fairway is just ok.
Staffs are rude . They don't treat you as customers .
One of the best courses in the area
Honeybee golf course was a dream to play on. Fairways were lush, all greens were consistent in speeds and looked great. A few too many par 3s for my taste, but the course layout gave you all you can ask for. Some dog legs, straight aways, and risk/reward holes with cutting corners or over water on a 2nd shot of a par 5. The course makes you play a lot of different clubs and for the creative shot maker, they will have plenty to think about. Driving range isn't the largest and is pretty narrow, a pretty small putting green and chipping area with practice bunker are also available, but only for paying customers. Overall course was fantastic and i would highly recommend as one of the best courses in the area. Played this on a hot deal, try to book early and you will be happy with the ROI.
Decent course for the money
Course is typically in pretty good shape. Greens are just ok but the layout and property is excellent. The food is pretty good and staff in the snack/ bar area are excellent.
The pro shop is decent not much of a selection like other courses in the area. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, well everyone other Mike the “ golf pro” he is very inconsistent with his pricing and extremely Moody and arrogant. I would recommend stumpy lake or even take a drive to Suffolk both of those courses are well ran with great professionalism.
Shannon,
I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with Mr. Nolan.
Mr. Nolan goes by our pricing that we have set forth, so no pricing should change.
Now if you are paying for 9 Holes and play 18 holes, that would change the pricing matrix.

Enjoyable course
Have played here many times for many years. fun and challenging course, usually always in good shape, very enjoyable, will continue to play here.
Thank You for the 5-Stars!!!
Thank You for the GREAT 5-STARS!!!!!
Great staff and clean facility
First time playing this course. Not a long course. Water hazards and bunkers make this course challenging from the back tees. Good value.
Great course
Great course to play. Greens were a little bumpy but still rolled fast. Will play again
Thank You for the GREAT 5-STARS!!!!!!
Great and fun course
Had a blast here, course was in great shape and at a great value!
Thank You So Much for the 5-Stars!!!
My go to!
This place is always my go to. Can’t beat it for the price you pay. Fun yet challenging. It holds water when wet but always a good time.
Nice day !
Warmer than normal December day . Course was very wet -Cart path only -Course Condition greens fair to good Fairways just ok !!! Great day to be out on the course!!
Excellent price excellent course
I play Honey Bee all the time and I love the course. It’s a great price and great course. The greens crew does a great job and the staff is very friendly. Perfect location as well, thanks Honey Bee for the great times!
Play there every great once in a while
Haven't played this course in almost 2 years. The course wasn't busy so I got right out. Tee boxes were in fair condition, the fairways were in good condition! The sand traps, some were in good condition others were in fair condition! I was in most sand traps and none were so bad condition I had to pull it out, a few I had to move my ball since the sand was wet! The greens were not in good shape! Fortunately, they had most the pin placements away from the worst part of the greens but numerous times I was putting over the poor parts of the greens! I would play again but not pay 30+ again, perhaps 20-25!
Course condition not matching the price
The course is awesome as usual; however, the greens this time was horrible and they should have lowered the price to match the situation. Greens was just recently aerated and full of sand making it impossible to putt. The condition was not mentioned anywhere and the price should have dropped a little bit less than usual because of the poor condition. The staff are awesome. Thanks Art!

Not fair
Not fair about Golf Now to not inform us of very bas condition of the 18 greens. Every Green has a lot of sand . Very disapointed for the greens and the change of our tee Time because there had a tournement just few jours before.
