Honey Bee Golf Club
About
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Honey Bee Golf Club is one of the area's most popular daily-fee golfing venues. Rees Jones designed the course, incorporating water on 10 holes as well as intricate bunkering throughout. The challenging layout has several tricky doglegs and some treacherous blind shots as well. It's a golf course that demands careful course management and some strategic thinking. Accurate shot placement is also key when maneuvering the rolling fairways and contoured greens. While it's by no means an easy golf course, it is an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels, making it a popular venue for tournaments and corporate outings. For golfers looking to get an entire day of golf in, Honey Bee's sister club, Stumpy Lake, is only about half a mile away.

Bathrooms Please!
Everything about this course was great except for one thing - no bathroom facilities on the course. One has to wait to return to the clubhouse to use the facilities. Course layout was beautiful and challenging. Staff was friendly. I enjoyed this course and will return next year.
Weeds
Weeds all over the fairways and the greens had ball marks all over them. No marshalls out there making sure players fix divots and ball marks. One of the nicest courses looked like it is in. Need of weed and feed. Players. Fix your balls marks and replace your divots. And take the sand
Horrible Customer Service for a Not Good Course
I have coached a high school golf team for the last 2 years and Honey Bee has been our home course for the last 5 years at least. During the last two years, me and my team have been treated with contempt, spite, and hostility at every turn. The staff treated us as if we were a burden on the course, which is a total dump to begin with. I'm not even going to get into details about the quality of the course, because it would take too long to describe the deficiencies. The point is that not only is the course crappy, but the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced at any course I have ever been to. I grew up playing golf. These high school kids are learning to play. My team has NEVER interfered with ANYTHING at this course for the 2 years I've coached. My team fixes their ballmarks, moves at a steady pace, and follows course etiquette. There is absolutely no reason for us to have been treated badly, yet that's what happened. It finally came to a boiling point and I REFUSE to go back to this course ever again. My team will never step foot on this course again either, nor do they want to.
not happy
one of the worst course I have played in in a long time. Ground keeper was very rude to the 2 some I was teamed up with, fairways have hardly any grass. This was my 1st and definitely last time playing this course. I do not recommend this course to anyone.
Potential but...
This is my second time playing this course. I think the layout is ok and the conditions were good for this time of year. My biggest problem both times with this course is overall friendliness. Last year I held a tournament there and other golfers not involved were pretty rude and trying to rush us. Yesterday the staff yelled at me for being a step out of the crowded driving range and into an area marked for lessons which wasn’t being used. These two completely separate experiences will keep me from coming back or recommending the course again.
For the end of March, the course was in excellent shape. While most of the fairways and rough was brown the greens had greened up and were meticulously maintained. Unfortunately, too many players refuse to fix ball marks on the green and they proved a challenge.
Honey Bee Golf Club is Awesome!
We played two of us in the morning. It was a little chilly, but the course was in great shape. The pace of play was very nice as well, no one on the hole in front, or behind us. Very relaxed round. Greens were in great shape, and the fairways were nice as well. Not too wet, not too dry. Am definitely going to continue to play here.
Excellent Value
First time playing the course. It was a cold morning, but I was able to finish 18 holes in 2:30. The course was still in winter mode, but it was challenging for a shorter track. Some tough greens and a few holes with lots of character. A great value for the price and I’ll definitely be back to play again.
Good Course
Enjoyable round. Little wet but not bad for as much as it rained.
75° in February!!
Was skeptical on the way to course because of a comment from my friend's dad about the course and recent weather conditions. However, he did not have any up to date information. It was pleasant driving into parking lot until the time we pulled out. Greens were pretty and receptive, often challenging. Minimal areas with ground under water. My only complaint would be a couple of the tee boxes being muddy, but that should be expected after couple days with precipitation. Overall great time and enjoyable course layout!
Great shape
I played my worse of the year....but the course was in great shape
Honeybee
The pro at the desk was real helpful, showed me a problem I had with my grip, based on the wear of the glove I was looking to replace. The change of grip improved my game more with the irons, driver was still slicing every so often. It had rained earlier in the week so the course was still wet in some areas. But still very playable. It is a fun course to play
