Honey Bee Golf Club
About
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Honey Bee Golf Club is one of the area's most popular daily-fee golfing venues. Rees Jones designed the course, incorporating water on 10 holes as well as intricate bunkering throughout. The challenging layout has several tricky doglegs and some treacherous blind shots as well. It's a golf course that demands careful course management and some strategic thinking. Accurate shot placement is also key when maneuvering the rolling fairways and contoured greens. While it's by no means an easy golf course, it is an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels, making it a popular venue for tournaments and corporate outings. For golfers looking to get an entire day of golf in, Honey Bee's sister club, Stumpy Lake, is only about half a mile away.

Very Good Course
If I lived in the area, I would play this course at least once a week, maybe more. The conditions, layout, staff were excellent and a lot of fun!
You’ve entered the Hive
Always love Honey Bee. Easier layout. Nothing too long. Great time.
Excellent
Excellent fairways, greens layout ! Bunkers are bad , pace of play pathetic
Golf at Honeybee on Easter.
The course conditions were absolutely horrible. There were lakes in every bunker and around the greens, though we've had no rain in 2 weeks. The greens had not been cut, were patchy, and were not even blown off, making it impossible to putt. They have lost a customer for life.
Always overbooked
Had a 1:10 tee time. Didn’t tee off until around 1:40 because they didn’t have any carts available. Seems crazy with the amount the charge here that they don’t have more carts. Pace of play was insanely slow. Took 1:40 to play the first 5 holes
Decent Muni
Honey Bee is a decent muni course that was in a convenient location. The greens had been aerated and sanded, and there were some wet spots from recent rains. Overall it's a decent course and hopefully will be in great condition once the weather warms up and the grass greens up.
Greens inundated with sand. Unplayable
They aireated the greens, left tons of sand to the point of the greens being unplayable, and yet they didn’t discount the round or tell anyone at the clubhouse about it. Could not putt. Completely unacceptable.
Too many duck droppings on the chipping green
Trying to find a spot duck dropping free was not easy … it took away from experiencing and fun time at warming up before playing
Honey Bee is a Treat to Play
Challenging course with well maintained greens and difficult rough. Friendly staff. Will play again for sure.
Greens
Greens were punched aerated so the green fees as it is called should have been discounted
Shameful.
Greens fees were full price for aerated and sand dressed greens. No notification this was the course condition otherwise I would not have chose it for my round. Bunkers not maintained. Cart paths terrible. Overall would not recommend. Sadly won’t be returning.
Greens Areated
Beautiful 70 degree, sunny day. Light breeze and the course was not packed. But the greens had recently been aerated and the greens were very sandy. I don't understand why players are charged 'full price" for greens that are too bad to putt on.. Had I known the greens were punched, I'm sure I would've played elsewhere
