About
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Honey Bee Golf Club is one of the area's most popular daily-fee golfing venues. Rees Jones designed the course, incorporating water on 10 holes as well as intricate bunkering throughout. The challenging layout has several tricky doglegs and some treacherous blind shots as well. It's a golf course that demands careful course management and some strategic thinking. Accurate shot placement is also key when maneuvering the rolling fairways and contoured greens. While it's by no means an easy golf course, it is an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels, making it a popular venue for tournaments and corporate outings. For golfers looking to get an entire day of golf in, Honey Bee's sister club, Stumpy Lake, is only about half a mile away.

Wonderful course with a great layout. Bunkers drainage needs some updating
Course was very wet
Got a lot of rain the day before and all the sand traps were full of water where as you couldn’t even find your ball if you hit it in the trap. I lost 5 balls in the traps. No discount was offered or credit towards the round.
Traps are in bad shape
Overall the course is in good shape but the traps are hard as rock and many are muddy or water filled due to what appears to be broken drainage system. They was no Marshall on the course and it took almost five hours to play due to excessively slow play in front of us.
Nice lil course
My group enjoyed playing this course. Only thing I can say was an issue is there’s a lot of standing water, especially in the bunkers. But if you don’t hit into them, you’re good!!!
Sand traps are still filled with water
Overall the round was good. However the standing water from two weeks ago has destroyed a lot of green side area as it dried out. Also most of the traps are hard as rock and some are still filled with water as the drainage system isn’t working. If they get this resolved the coutwill be great again
Great Course
Golf course is in good shape. There were 2 holes with standing water in the fairway and cart path. Aside from that the course is great.
Lots of water
The course is beautiful with a challenging number of holes. The greens, tees and most of the fairways were great but almost all of the sand traps were rock hard or filled with water, as were many of the low fairway areas. The last rain had been more than 48 hours before playing. It appeared that many of the drains were inoperative. Hopefully this is a short term issue as the course is in all other ways top level.

Course was sub par. majority of the bunkers were filled with alot of water.
Don’t waste your time literally
Poor pace of play, flooded bunkers. 5 hours + for 18.
Friendly Game
If this course was priced a little lower I would have been able to give higher ratings. Unfortunately the traps were hard as rocks, the fairways need thicker grass, etc.
