Old Hickory Golf Club

Nice to see this great course coming back after a tough year. Bunkers still marginally playable, but fairways and greens improving nicely. Otherwise good day somewhat tainted by a threesome that held up the whole course from 830am on. Only shot without a wait came on 17. Staff/ranger friendly but not effective. Paired up with some very nice members, they are always first rate.

Course just not in good condition for the $85 plus price. Greens were in bad condition as well as a lot of the fairways. Just not well kept throughout and I shot one of my best rounds too but won’t be back

Keep it in the fairway and you will be rewarded. Stray, and you will pay dearly. Always a pleasure to get a deal on a great course. I will keep my eyes peeled for another deal.

I was simply shocked to see a course in such horrible conditions. The tee boxes looked like a mound of dirt with patches of weed. The fairways were a complete joke; there wasn’t a single fairway that needed repairs. Speaking of repairs, the greens were just as awful.

Lots of bare spots, most likely caused by heavy rains earlier this year. On Sunday afternoon, no golfers in front of us or behind us - made for a most pleasurable afternoon. Rough and grass around 16 and 17 holes needs mowing. Always surprised ad disappointed when no one when leaving the 18th hole and clubhouse asks about our golf experience to entice us to come back. Hugh the starter was very friendly and informative.

The fairways have some patchy areas, but the greens are perfect. No complaints about the tee boxes. Finished in 3 hours and 40 minutes on a Saturday evening playing at the pace of a two-party. Layout is nice with several challenging holes and a good about of hazards without making the course itself too hazardous.

Course is in rough shape. Would not play for the rest of this season unless you are getting half price or golfnow hot deal.

Have played Old Hickory many times and enjoy the layout and course. Today the course was in awful conditions. The tee boxes, fairways and traps are in need of a lot of work

When checking in it would have been courteous for the pro shop to inform us

I try to play this course a couple of times a year. I would skip it for at least a month, hoping conditions improve. Most tee boxes have major areas of diseased or no grass. Many fairways are the same. Greens were being worked on today, very small tine punched, those that were punched were in better shape than those that had not. Granted, the course management indicated they had significant rain last night but the course was extremely wet and draining poorly. Very few fairways were not mostly casual water. I would say this course today was the worst shape I have ever seen it!

Terrible shape. It's not even playable. No grass in the fairways, tee boxes are a joke and the bunkers are unplayable. Large portions of the fairway marked as ground under repair on the back nine. Dont bother coming here, extremely disappointed because the layout is good but conditions are an absolutel joke. They should be more upfront to anyone who calls and asks about the condition.

Flew in to have some time with friends, wanted to try a new course this one had good reviews. The tee boxes were literally missing grass lol. Multiple tee boxes were dirt/mud and some grass here and there. Multiple fairways closed in the middle of the fairway due to poor shape. Greens were not terrible but not good at all, for 70 bucks is a huge letdown and disappointment.

This used to be a great course. Unfortunately it is no longer what is used to be. Many of the tee boxes, fairways and greens are unplayable. This course has always had a great layout. But course conditions are very poor. I do see some efforts to improve the course but I fear that things have gone too far downhill.

Played the course in May and it was wonderful. The Grounds staff is fighting a fungus or something on the fairways and some greens. The rough was tough, but around the greens conditions were terrible. Sad to see the course in this bad of condition. The price was good, so all in all, its worth the money.

It was hot 96 degrees and 74% humidity, making it a sweltering day, and found too many coolers empty! Come on man .

Walked off after 14 holes. Tee time before 8am on weekend and still 4:45+ pace. Paid $91 for chewed up tees, patchy greens, awful fairways. As someone who frequents east Potomac, I don’t mind conditions that are a little rough. I do mind 4:45+ hour rounds before 8am on chewed up courses for 90+ dollars. Nice staff and fun layout, but stay away unless you’re paying 40 or less.

Tee box, fairway, putting green are in very bad shape. HORRIBLE SHAPE.wish I could get my money back!!!:(
