Lone Tree Golf Club
About
Located close to the San Tan Mountains, the course at the Lone Tree Golf Club offers not only a good game but also beautiful mountain views. This championship golf course was done in a traditional desert-style with rolling fairways and fast greens that are large and undulating. There are also several sand bunkers that protect both the fairways and the greens. Water hazards come into play on five holes and extensive mounding adds further challenge. The course features four sets of tee boxes to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. Lone Tree Golf Club boasts extensive practice facilities including a targeted grass range, a large putting green, and a short game area with a sand bunker.

Great greens terrible fairways
Greens were in excellent condition but the fairways were terrible. I understand the transition process but there were many spots with no grass and the course was extremely wet. They were watering holes as we played at 11am in the morning! They turned the greenside sprinklers on us on 16 and soaked my clubs and golf bag! This course is a nice layout but is in need of some time, TLC, and golf maitenance etiquette!
Groundskeeper is unstable
Our group got screamed at by a groundskeeper. I dont know if he was hungover or still drunk, but that has never happened to me in 30 years of golfing. Very odd experience.
Course was in good shape for this time of year. A couple bunkers had too much water in them from the morning/night before so it was like hitting of of clay. Overall good value for our round!
Nice course great value
Nice course to play. Course in good shape. Greens starting to turn a bit and they were cut short. Was hard for me to figure out greens when putting.
Will play it again
Fun Course
This is my first time to the course, but I really enjoyed it. The staff they are very friendly, and all around has a nicer feel to it. The course is fairly straightforward. However I enjoyed playing here a lot. I have played by myself, and the groups in front of me always let me play through and are very kind about the pace of play. I will definitely be back.
Darn good shape
12:30 tee time, played alone, went thru one foursome all day. I play 4-5 times a week (retired) and Lone Tree was in better shape than I have seen in a month of golf. Very little brown out, divots were well sanded in the fairways, tees were level, grassy and cut to the correct height. And people pick up their broken tees here, none of that sweeping the tee with your foot to make room to stick one in the ground. The greens were in great shape and rolled true. All this after having a junior tournament in the morning that backed up the earlier day times. Kudo's to the management and staff.
Lone Tree Golf
Pretty good day at Lone Tree. Greens were fast and fairways were pretty dry but it’s 106 today so that’s the way it is. Nice facilities, pleasant staff. Slow play is my only complaint.
Greens Best In East Valley
Played a lot of courses this year in the East Valley and finally found one with greens in pretty good condition.
Firm but receptive and rolling very fast. Whole course was in better shape then most. Will play again soon.
Good Value
This course can fly under the radar, but it plays well and everyone I have taken here enjoys it. They do a nice job with maintenance, particularly on the tee boxes and the greens. The layout offers some risk/reward holes that can be played several different ways. Fairways are forgiving, which help keep the pace of play moving. There are plenty of bunkers around the greens that are well maintained. The greens and bunkers present the most challenge. This is a fun course that appeals to a variety of skill sets.
